Noticing joy and embracing centeredness...
Welcome back!
Happy February! Happy Black History Month!

Spring semester always begins with a bang and we're off and running. Spiritual Life is here to remind you to continue to take time for compassion-for yourself and others- when the stress feels high. We're excited to launch soon a Lewis & Clark Group Nap- inspired by Tricia Hersey's Nap Ministry and her recent book Rest Is Resistance: A Manifesto. Even as we're called to produce as students and employees, take time to be. The Flanagan Chapel will be open on Thursday afternoons for Group Nap- but always feel free to take up space in there if it's not being used for rest, reflection, prayer, or silence.

And if you have any feedback, we're all ears! Email me at [email protected].

Lastly- a shout out for our own Valerie Craigwell White sharing her own history of her abolitionist relatives, the Rev. William Jackson and Jane Jackson, recently featured on a U.S. National Park Service webpage on Independence Hall and the Fugitive Slave Hearings. Valerie is our Ombuds person at Lewis & Clark.

Wishing you peace and health,
Hilary
