Aug 1- Howlett Line Van Tour, 10 am - 2 pm,
Henricus Historical Park, 251 Henricus Park Rd, Chester. $15 per person.Learn about Civil War sites that were part of a Confederate line of defense known as the Howlett Line. Constructed in late May 1864, this defensive position prevented Federal troops from launching further operations and kept the Army of the James entrenched on the peninsula. August 15 - Summer Tour Series: Expanding the Breakthrough: Generals Under Fire, Pamplin Historical Park, 6125 Boydton Plank Rd., Petersburg. This caravan driving tour will examine the different ways that commanding generals Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E. Lee focused their energies while under fire during the events of April 2, 1865. August 15 - Decorating from the Grand Tour: The Eppes' Art Collection,1:00 pm. Tour Stops #7 & #8 Eastern Front, 5001 Siege Rd. Petersburg.This program explores the art collection of the Eppes family at City Point. The program is free and takes place at Grant's Headquarters at City Point (1001 Pecan Avenue, Hopewell).
