Save the Date!

We are excited to announce that Habitat's 78th home is finished, and Krystal closes on the property this month! We plan on celebrating with her on Thursday, August 17, at 6:00 p.m. with a home dedication. Everyone is invited to this milestone in Krystal and Nyla's life!

Ivy's New Home

On Friday, July 7, we celebrated with Ivy and her family at a home dedication. Ivy’s friends and family came to support her and the next chapter of her life. We are excited for Ivy! Check out photos from the event on our website at https://www.hkwhabitat.org/2023/07/07/ivys-home-dedication/#

100-Year Old Watch

In case you missed it - we unearthed an engraved 100-year-old pendant watch at the site of our 78th home on Wesley St. Through the help of the Ashland Museum, we were able to track down the descendants of the original owners and give it back to the rightful owners. The Richmond Times Dispatch, the Mechanicsville-Ashland Local, as well as CBS 6 took an interest in this story and shared it with the community. Click on the links to learn more!

You are cordially invited...

Join us for our annual fundraising dinner, Harvest of Hope, with a delicious meal and music in a beautiful outdoor setting. On Friday, September 15 we will gather at the Hanover Vegetable Farm for an evening of fun. Purchase your tickets and learn more about this event online.

Ways to Support Habitat

Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity will develop 1.5 acres in Ashland at the corner of South Taylor Street and Arlington Street into a five-lot affordable home development. Habitat affectionately calls it their STAR project, short for S. Taylor and Arlington streets.

This project will cost approximately $1.6 million to develop five affordable homes due to the infrastructure costs, street-level work, and the cost of home construction. To date, we have raised $912,000. We still need to raise $688,000 to make this project a reality.

To begin infrastructure work in the fall, we need your help. Please consider becoming a financial supporter of this project and of our mission. Learn more online.

When you donate a car, truck, boat, RV, or other vehicles to Habitat for Humanity's Cars for Homes program, you help people in OUR community build a house or make critical repairs! Donate now and directly benefit your Hanover and King William Habitat for Humanity!

Last month, we had the pleasure of taking the Community Foundation for a greater Richmond on a tour of our new construction homes and houses we have helped with our critical repair program. The Community Foundation provides financial support for our critical repair program and saw several projects they had made possible. With their partnership, we can keep more community members safe and dry in their homes! See pictures on our Facebook or Instagram page. Thank you Community Foundation!
