Each October, it has become an Essex tradition to welcome new Halloween residents to town. A map of scarecrow locations will be available so you can take a drive around town and see the creativity of our residents and businesses! The Printable Scarecrow Map is now available! Open to the public--“no need to be Finn to have funn.” The 31st annual FinnFunn Weekend, hosted by the Cape Ann Finns and partner Gloucester 400+, takes place on Cape Ann. The weekend is the local American Finns’ contribution to G400+’s of the ethnic groups that helped shape Gloucester over its 400 years. Open Door Ribbon Cutting

The Open Door invites the community to attend a ribbon cutting for its new Food and Nutrition Center. All are welcome. The Open Door encourages those who wish to attend to also bring a small bag of dirt from their backyard, to help plant a tree symbolizing the contributions of the community to make the building project a reality.
The project includes a larger, modernized kitchen with a double line, fulfillment center, food packing space, additional dry and cold storage, client meeting spaces, and more. The Open Door has also updated and reconfigured other areas of the building to maximize space.
