David Hawkins w/ special guest Clark Sommers will be offering a free outdoor patio concert this Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on the patio outside the Jessen Office Building (JOB) @ 117 Scranton in Lake Bluff. There is no charge for the concert (donations to help offset the cost will be accepted), and you are welcome to BYOB. We'll have plenty of chairs. David - a former local resident, LFHS teacher, and part of our church family with his wife Cheryl - now lives in Pittsburgh where he's been a very popular performer.
Origin recording artist Clark Sommers - bassist, composer and educator - has toured and performed extensively throughout the world. (Clark's web) Together with David, Clark creates a memorable and inspired sound perfect for a Sunday afternoon house concert on the church patio! We hope you will join us - and trust you won't hesitate to bring along friends & neighbors! Have questions? Email Ken Hall (Concerns about the weather? Check the church website.)
"Beers for Bikes"
Help Us Help Others @ the July 24 Lake Bluff Criterium Bike Race
The Lake Bluff Criterium Bike Race has grown to become a wonderful event over the last several years, attracting fans and cyclists from around the world. (read the press release at the end of this newsletter) Literally! As a church, we have helped out in a variety of ways over the years, most recently in 1998 & 1999, when we managed the Beer Tent. Yes, the Beer Tent!
Why, you ask?
Because I volunteered us!
I volunteered us, that is, after we were offered a significant portion of beverage proceeds to support our charities - specifically World Bicycle Relief.
So, this year we are back at it, and need your help to give the gift of mobility to those in need throughout the world via World Bicycle Relief. Specifically, we need volunteers to help sell beer from the Lake Bluff Brewing Company and Fat Tire, as well as volunteers to help handle the sales / money. Please note - beer sales volunteers must have a Bassett card, which is the State of Illinois' online test to ensure that...blah blah blah. Either way, you need a Bassett card.
What to do next? Email John Corrigan who is leading our efforts! It's gonna be a BLAST!

It's about an hour - and all from the comfort of your home. So, if you feel like you could benefit from ideas helping you build a healthy mindset - join us! To participate, or if you have questions, simply send Matt an email by clicking HERE
Divine 9 continues every week @ 4:00 p.m. @ the Deerpath Golf Club. 9 holes with friends from the church - a great way to spend time!

Patio Wednesday is BACK July 21! Join us from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. under the lights on the church patio - affectionately called the "Garden of Eatin'" by those with marginal, Biblical senses of humor. Please remember to BYOB - bring your own beverage. Questions? Call the office @ 847 234 8191.

Thanks to everyone keeping Elliott Delman in their prayers and thoughts. Elliott continues to be @ Northwestern Memorial Hospital downtown Chicago battling multiple myeloma. While he is not able to receive visitors right now, Elliott's dear friend Ronna - a retired physician visiting from Montana is with him each day and does a great job of filling us in on how he's doing. Hopefully, Elliott will soon be able to receive CAR T-cell therapy. We'll keep you in the loop. Thanks for your prayers!

Everyone in the family will get to experience riding on the pro racecourse. At the end of the ride, children who participated can bring their race bib to the Suzy's Swirl booth in the food court and their delicious treat will be discounted by $1.00.
