Lottery Experts to Discuss the Everchanging Lottery Customer at NCLGS Winter Meeting in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.: Lottery experts will examine the future of the lottery and its customer base at the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) 2024 Winter Meeting at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, January 3-6.

Public Policy Positions and the Lottery’s Everchanging Customer Base will be the focus of NCLGS’ Lottery Committee, where leading lottery executives also will preview how state governments may base their future lottery decisions on evolving demographic changes and offerings. The Lottery Committee will be chaired by Georgia Representative and NCLGS Secretary Al Williams with presenters including:


  • Brad Cummings, Founder and & CEO, EQL Games 
  • Gregory Smith, President and CEO, Connecticut Lottery 
  • Robert Wesley, VP of North America Customer Development, NeoGames

The Board of Directors of NCLGS is delighted to include two off-site events. 1S/T Technology will sponsor a “Day at the Races” at the historic Gulfstream Park on the afternoon of January 5, and the world-famous Seminole Hard Rock will host a reception to close out the conference on the afternoon of January 6.


The four-day conference will include 12 sessions chaired by legislative leaders from around the country. Included in the program will be opening addresses by distinguished VIPs, a luncheon keynote, two evening networking receptions and two off-site events.

Once again, the Sports Betting Regulators Association (SBRA) will be co-locating at NCLGS. SBRA will host a two-hour session open to all attendees prior to the opening reception on January 3.


NCLGS attendance continues to grow; the recent summer meeting in Denver had an attendance of more than 300 people, including a NCLGS-record of more than 100 legislators and regulators. All NCLGS meetings are open to the public.


NCLGS, founded more than a quarter-century ago, is the only organization of state lawmakers that meets on a regular basis to discuss issues related to gaming. NCLGS neither promotes nor opposes gaming but is focused on proper regulation and promoting best practices in the governance of this important industry.
