Yesterday, the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans approved over $8M in design and engineering contracts for the Louisiana International Terminal, as the project continues through the federal permitting process. Contracts awarded will provide:
- cost estimating,
- geotechnical services,
- design for the rail access to the terminal, earthwork and ground improvement, and a drainage pump station, and
- pre-construction services.
Together, these contracts will finalize the design of the terminal, as required by the permit process, and will develop a phased plan for construction.
