Dear OLOL School Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I personally want to thank you for choosing OLOL and entrusting your children to us. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to partner with you in providing a strong academic and faith foundation for your children.

I believe the strongest schools are built through strong partnerships between home and school. Your support, involvement, communication, and trust are invaluable. Together, we can create an environment where our children feel known, loved, challenged, and encouraged to become the people God is calling them to be.

Please know that my door is always open. I welcome your questions, ideas, and concerns, and I look forward to getting to know your families throughout the year.

I am excited for the year ahead and grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside you. It is a privilege to help our children grow in faith, discover their gifts, and become the young people God created them to be. I look forward to a wonderful year together as an OLOL family.

The information in this packet will help you navigate the beginning of the school year.

New Family Orientation

All new OLOL families will meet in the parish social hall on Wednesday, August 12th at 6:30PM.
We ask that children/students not attend this evening as important information regarding the school year is provided.
Returning families with preschool and kindergarten students do not need to attend.

Back-to-School/Supply Drop-off/Picture Night

Back-to-school night is Thursday, August 20th from 4:00-6:30 PM.
Students will drop-off their school supplies, meet their teachers, and get their 2026-2027 school picture taken. Students do not need to be in uniform.
You are welcome to drop off any completed forms to the school office that night.
Middle School orientation for 5th grade students and new middle school students (6th - 8th grade) will be on August 20th.

All 5th graders and new middle students (6th - 8th grade) are required to attend. We will meet in Mrs. Sharon Johnson’s room (second floor - room 210).

First day of School

K-8th grade students' first day will be Wednesday, August 26th. School hours for all students will be 8:00AM - 3:00PM.
4 year-old preschool students' first day will be Monday, August 31st. Hours are 8:00AM - 3:00PM for full days and 8:00 - 11:30AM for half-days
3 year-old preschool students' first day will be Tuesday, September 1st. The hours are 8:00 - 11:30 AM

Mrs. Liz Gale

Interventionist

Hello! My name is Liz Gale and I am very excited to join Our Lady of Lourdes School in a new role as an Interventionist. My husband Steve, along with our five daughters, have been a part of the Lourdes community for the past seven years. I graduated from St.Norbert College in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, I headed to the Milwaukee area to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a teacher and enrolled at Cardinal Stritch University to receive my Masters of Arts in Teaching. I worked in schools around the Milwaukee area teaching in a variety of areas from special education to middle school math. My first fulltime job was teaching first grade in a Catholic school, where I fell in love with Catholic education.

Throughout the next few years, we moved to Nebraska and Colorado, due to Steve’s service in the Air Force. During that time, I loved staying home with our growing family. When our family returned to northeast Wisconsin, we fell in love with the Lourdes community and feel blessed to be here. Teaching at Lourdes is a very exciting opportunity for me to return to education.

In my free time, my favorite place is outside. I spend much of my time gardening, boating, skiing, biking, and cheering my kids on in their sports. If I must be inside, I love reading and cooking.

Hello, My name is Nicki Waystedt, and I am so excited to join the Our Lady of Lourdes community as the Spanish teacher. I graduated in May from the University of Wisconsin Eau-Claire with a double major in Spanish and History.

While in college I had the opportunity to study abroad for a semester in Costa Rica, as well completing immersions in Spain, where I did the Camino de Santiago, and a service learning immersion in Puerto Rico.

I have been a camp counselor for a local Girl Scout Camp for the past ten years. During college I worked as a Campus Safety Officer, and I am currently a Playground Leader for the City of Green Bay.

I was born and raised here in Green Bay and had the privilege of attending Our Lady of Lourdes from PreK-3 to Eighth grade. In addition to traveling I love to bake, play pickleball, and spend time with family and friends.

Summer Reading Challenge

Each grade level has a different reading goal. We are trying to encourage students to read over the summer to help avoid the “summer slide”.

Slips need to be returned by Monday, August 31. Those completing their sheet will receive a dress down day certificate and an award keychain. The grade with the highest percentage of participation will receive a free recess. If your child loses their sheet, you can email me at sbrys@gracesystem.org and I will email a new one to you.

SCRIP News

The summer SCRIP schedule is below. SCRIP WILL be processed the following weeks this summer. If you plan to order online for pick up at the parish office, please plan accordingly. All orders will be ready for pick up on Thursday of the week it is processed.

There will be no SCRIP processed this week or September 7th (Labor Day). Scrip will return to its normal processing scheduling starting September 14th.
