Lourdes Letter from Principal Young | | |
Dear OLOL Families,
Everyday I realize more and more how blessed we are at OLOL. We have a dedicated parish that supports our school, dedicated families and students that exemplify what our school is all about, and dedicated teachers that also support what we hope to produce as graduating students. God is firmly in control of all of us and does lead us on our path of life, which is another great gift of God.
Each year brings new changes which I would like to share with you.
-
5 day preschool - Thank you to Ms. Pribyl for starting her career at OLOL. We wish her the best in her future endeavors.
-
Counseling - Mrs. Kielpikowski is lightening up her workload and is moving to a part-time position elsewhere. We thank her for bringing counseling to OLOL these past 3 years.
-
Administrative Assistant - Mrs. Hendricks has been a blessing to me, the staff, students, and families for the past 3 years. She will be greatly missed as she brought so much professionalism and positivity to everyone she encountered. Thank you Mrs. Hendricks for all that you have done for OLOL.
-
Kindergarten - Mrs. Aschenbrenner has led our kindergarten program for several years. God is moving her into a different direction. The impact of Mrs. Aschenbrenner is going to continue on for many years. Many initiatives that we implemented and are going to start are related to Mrs. Aschenbrenner's dedication to OLOL. Thank you Mrs. Aschenbrenner.
We are going to be posting these openings on WECAN along with our search for a newly added 2nd grade teacher to join Ms. Behringer. These are exciting times for OLOL. If you happen to know of any teachers that are looking for a school that has great parish and family support, please encourage them to apply or reach out to me directly. I’m extremely confident that these positions will be filled by professionals that will support our mission and keep the long tradition of academic and spiritual excellence.
I would like to thank OLOL parent, Murphy O'Hearn who has graciously donated his time on Thursday afternoons to assist us in implementing our computer science curriculum a little more vigorously in grades 3, 4 and 5. Thank you Mr. O’Hearn!
“Hope has two beautiful daughters: their names are anger and courage. Anger that thinks are the way they are. Courage to make them they way they ought to be.” - St. Augustine

Lectio Divina
We pray with all Catholics throughout the Green Bay Diocese
| | |
There are different ways to engage in Lectio Divina. If you are a beginner here is a process that will help you get started.
Step 1: Prepare yourself to read scripture. You will need to find a time and location where you will not be interrupted or disturbed. Ready yourself to read God’s word and see how He wants you to respond.
Step 2: Read the scripture and look for words or phrases that jump out at you.
Step 3: Reflect on those words or phrases and what they mean to you.
Step 4: Reread the scripture and spend a few moments in quiet reflection on what God is calling you to do through these words or phrases.
Step 5: Reread the scripture a third time and it is time to respond. What actions will you take after your conversation with God?

Fifth Sunday of Easter
John 15:1-8
Daily Readings from USCCB - View here
Jesus said to his disciples:
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower.
He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit,
and every one that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit.
You are already pruned because of the word that I spoke to you.
Remain in me, as I remain in you.
Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own
unless it remains on the vine,
so neither can you unless you remain in me.
I am the vine, you are the branches.
Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit,
because without me you can do nothing.
Anyone who does not remain in me
will be thrown out like a branch and wither;
people will gather them and throw them into a fire
and they will be burned.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you,
ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you.
By this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit and become my disciples."
