A fundraiser & SPRING

TSF volunteer opportunity during the NFL DRAFT 2025.

Dear OLOL Parents,

We have an exciting and unique spring Packer Parking opportunity this year as Green Bay hosts the NFL Draft!

After coordinating with the Green Bay Distillery staff, we have updated the Packer Parking sign-up with new slots for Wednesday, April 23, through Saturday, April 26. Please note that, unlike regular Packer Parking, we will need to remain on-site even after the lot is full, as there will be people coming and going throughout the day and night.

From the Desk of Mrs. Franz

Hello OLOL Families,

My name is Kay Franz and I was lucky enough to be asked to help out as Principal at Our Lady of Lourdes for a few weeks while Mr. Young is out of the building on a trip to the United Kingdom.  While he is gone, we are taking the opportunity to learn a little bit about the United Kingdom by following his travels to England/Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.  The children are learning where the countries are located on a map.

One of the most interesting facts is how all three countries’ flags are linked to our Catholic Faith.  The patron saint of England is St. George and their flag is the Cross of St. George, a red cross on a white background.  The patron saint of Scotland is St. Andrew. Their flag is St. Andrew’s cross (a white cross on a navy blue background). The flag of Ireland is three vertical stripes, one orange, one white and one green.  The green stripe represents the Protestant faith and the orange stripe represents the Catholic faith and the white stripe in the middle stands for peace between the religions.  St. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland.  So, the Union Jack Flag which represents all three countries is a combination of the Cross of St. Andrew, St. George and St. Patrick.

We are doing a few fun things such as having two dress down days.  On Thursday, April 10th, we are having a Scottish dress down day.  Students can wear their Scottish plaid, or blue and white, the colors of the flag.  Then on Monday when Mr. Young is in Ireland, the students can have another dress down day, wearing any of the colors of the Irish flag, orange, white and green.  Jeans will be acceptable on both of these days.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is kfranz@gracesystem.org.

Growing in GRACE,

Kay Franz
