Lourdes Letter from Principal Young | | |
Dear OLOL families,
Thank you to all that attended the Lenten Dinner and 8th grade carnival. What I love most about the event is that it involves not only our school families but parish members as well. OLOL Parish supports us in so many ways and I love it when we have them involved in our activities. A huge thank you for Megan and Mike Lehman and their team. The dinner runs like clockwork and that is due because of the dedication of the Lehmans.
I would also like to thank Mrs. Day and Mrs. Jaecks for their help with the carnival. Our 8th graders will be graduating soon and they appreciate your support in raising funds for their class trip.
Spring conferences are coming up at the end of next week. The Sign-up Genius links are again available in this week’s Lourdes Letter. We would love it if you could come in and meet with your child’s teacher. Learning is never done here at OLOL. How you finish a school year is just as important as how you start it. Meeting with your child’s teacher is a great way to start the final trimester of the 2023-2024 school year.
Thank you to all that have enrolled at OLOL for the 2024-2025 school year. Enrollment for next year is very strong. We have many new students enrolled for next year and one new student in each grade. If my numbers are correct we have 20 more students enrolled than where we were last year at the end of February. If you haven’t enrolled please reach out to me and discuss any questions or concerns you have. The education experience is so much stronger when we all work together to solve problems.
“There are no problems we cannot solve together and very few that we can solve by ourselves” - Lydon Johnson

Teacher Meal during Conferences
We are once again looking forward to parent/teacher conferences, which means our wonderful teachers are working late for the good of our students!
Let's thank them by providing them with a delicious dinner. Due to conferences being immediately before spring break and vacation for many of us, as well as it being Lent, many parents have suggested catering the meal and providing financial contributions to the meal rather than purchasing ingredients.
We will be catering in Gallagher's pizza and pasta with meat items on the side so leftovers can be consumed for lunch before conferences on Friday afternoon. Special options will be available to our teachers with dietary restrictions.
Please consider donating $10 to cover the cost of your child(ren) teachers meal!
Money can be turned into the office in an envelope marked "Teacher Meal." If you prefer to use Venmo, please contact Bridget Destree at bd0105@yahoo.com or 920.904.4459.

Lectio Divina
We pray with all Catholics throughout the Green Bay Diocese
| | |
There are different ways to engage in Lectio Divina. If you are a beginner here is a process that will help you get started.
Step 1: Prepare yourself to read scripture. You will need to find a time and location where you will not be interrupted or disturbed. Ready yourself to read God’s word and see how He wants you to respond.
Step 2: Read the scripture and look for words or phrases that jump out at you.
Step 3: Reflect on those words or phrases and what they mean to you.
Step 4: Reread the scripture and spend a few moments in quiet reflection on what God is calling you to do through these words or phrases.
Step 5: Reread the scripture a third time and it is time to respond. What actions will you take after your conversation with God?

Second Sunday of Lent
Mark 9:2-10
Daily Readings from USCCB - View here
Jesus took Peter, James, and John
and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves.
And he was transfigured before them,
and his clothes became dazzling white,
such as no fuller on earth could bleach them.
Then Elijah appeared to them along with Moses,
and they were conversing with Jesus.
Then Peter said to Jesus in reply,
"Rabbi, it is good that we are here!
Let us make three tents:
one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
He hardly knew what to say, they were so terrified.
Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them;
from the cloud came a voice,
"This is my beloved Son. Listen to him."
Suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone
but Jesus alone with them.
As they were coming down from the mountain,
he charged them not to relate what they had seen to anyone,
except when the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
So they kept the matter to themselves,
questioning what rising from the dead meant.

Wisconsin Tax Deduction for
Tuition Expense
Tax legislation signed into law gives Wisconsin taxpayers the opportunity to deduct private school tuition expenses from their taxable income. A subtraction from income is allowed for tuition expenses that are paid for any of the GRACE schools. Parents/guardians are eligible for a maximum deduction of $4,000 per child in grades K-8 and $10,000 per child in grades 9-12. Students transitioning from eighth to ninth grade are eligible for both deductions. Per state guidance, any amount spent on tuition and book fees are eligible for the deduction. Book fees include digital books, such as laptops or tablet fees issued by the school.
Tuition information for tax preparation is available to GRACE families online via GRACE’s enrollment management system, TADS.
- The TADS Household Paid Tuition Tax Report will provide a breakdown of payments made for the specified household’s tuition account during the tax year.
- When gathering information for tax preparation, GRACE families are to access their TADS account | select Billing | Billing Account Number | Reports | Household Paid Tuition Tax Report | enter the tax year (i.e. 2023) and submit.
- A quick link to this Report also appears at the TADS Billing Account – Tuition & Fees screen to access the Household Paid Tuition Tax Report.
- If you have questions or require assistance, please call TADS Family Support at (800) 477-8237 or GRACE at (920) 499-7330, option 2.
