Letter from Principal Young | | |
Dear OLOL Families,
The OLOL staff and myself wish to thank you for all of your support during Catholic Schools Week. For me it was one of the most enjoyable Catholic Schools Week that I have experienced. It was a pretty busy week and I’m sure your children came home exhausted some of the days last week. I finally got some time this week-end to review some of the family testimonials. As I read them I couldn’t help but ask, “how blessed am I”. The OLOL community is such a remarkable community to the commitment of so many families and students. God has truly blessed me more than he should be placing me at OLOL. I don’t know what I did to deserve this but I am so grateful and humbled to do the work for this community.
I have so exciting news on the enrollment front. First, we will be welcoming two new students this year (one this week and one at the start of trimester three. Both parents and children are excited to join their grades. The draw for them is our focus on academics. They both want a place where they can focus on academics and get ready for high school. This was music to my ears as part of my focus is that the benefits of OLOL need to extend to high school, college, work force , and life.
Last year I was very excited because at mid-summer we had a new student in every grade for this school. I am proud to say that we have students enrolled or applied to enroll in every grade level after just one week of enrollment. I may be off by a little bit but as of Sunday we have 17 new families to OLOL with 25 new students.
Thank you to all of you that enrolled during Catholic Schools Week. If you haven’t, I ask you to complete enrollment this week. Many staffing decisions need to be made as we are a growing school. It would be helpful to me that we have very accurate numbers for certain grades so we can get a jump on our plans for 2024-2025.
If you have questions about your son or daughter educational experience, I ask that you reach out to me for a discussion. Open honest discussions are the best way to solve problems to give your son or daughter the best school experience that we can provide.
Finally, the Lenten Dinner.School Carnival is Friday, February 16th. We are in need of some donations for prizes. If you would like to donate, please see the below information for what we are looking for.

Lectio Divina
We pray with all Catholics throughout the Green Bay Diocese
| | |
There are different ways to engage in Lectio Divina. If you are a beginner here is a process that will help you get started.
Step 1: Prepare yourself to read scripture. You will need to find a time and location where you will not be interrupted or disturbed. Ready yourself to read God’s word and see how He wants you to respond.
Step 2: Read the scripture and look for words or phrases that jump out at you.
Step 3: Reflect on those words or phrases and what they mean to you.
Step 4: Reread the scripture and spend a few moments in quiet reflection on what God is calling you to do through these words or phrases.
Step 5: Reread the scripture a third time and it is time to respond. What actions will you take after your conversation with God?

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mark 1:40-45
Daily Readings from USCCB - View here
A leper came to Jesus and kneeling down begged him and said,
“If you wish, you can make me clean.”
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched him, and said to him,
“I do will it. Be made clean.”
The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean.
Then, warning him sternly, he dismissed him at once.
He said to him, “See that you tell no one anything,
but go, show yourself to the priest
and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed;
that will be proof for them.”
The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter.
He spread the report abroad
so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly.
He remained outside in deserted places,
and people kept coming to him from everywhere.

Wisconsin Tax Deduction for
Tuition Expense
Tax legislation signed into law gives Wisconsin taxpayers the opportunity to deduct private school tuition expenses from their taxable income. A subtraction from income is allowed for tuition expenses that are paid for any of the GRACE schools. Parents/guardians are eligible for a maximum deduction of $4,000 per child in grades K-8 and $10,000 per child in grades 9-12. Students transitioning from eighth to ninth grade are eligible for both deductions. Per state guidance, any amount spent on tuition and book fees are eligible for the deduction. Book fees include digital books, such as laptops or tablet fees issued by the school.
Tuition information for tax preparation is available to GRACE families online via GRACE’s enrollment management system, TADS.
- The TADS Household Paid Tuition Tax Report will provide a breakdown of payments made for the specified household’s tuition account during the tax year.
- When gathering information for tax preparation, GRACE families are to access their TADS account | select Billing | Billing Account Number | Reports | Household Paid Tuition Tax Report | enter the tax year (i.e. 2023) and submit.
- A quick link to this Report also appears at the TADS Billing Account – Tuition & Fees screen to access the Household Paid Tuition Tax Report.
- If you have questions or require assistance, please call TADS Family Support at (800) 477-8237 or GRACE at (920) 499-7330, option 2.
