Lourdes Letter from Principal Young | | |
Dear OLOL Families,
I hope that you are having a reflective and prayerful Holy Week. The OLOL Parish has many opportunities for prayer and reflection on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week. I encourage all of us to spend time this week contemplating all that Jesus did over 2,000 years ago.
As you know, we have done a great job with our fundraising efforts. There is one group that is responsible for our successful year. That group is you. Our parent community has strongly participated in all of our fundraising efforts this year. The staff and I are so appreciative of all that you do that make OLOL a special place.
I have been working with our Site Advisory Committee and our teachers on how to spend the funds that have been gifted to us by your support. Our first purchase was to update the podiums and carts that each teacher has in their classrooms. Each teacher was either given a podium or cart that will assist them with instruction.
We then decided each OLOL teacher received $750 to purchase resources, technology, or any other educational item that will assist in student achievement in their classroom. Those lists have been put together and have been purchased. The items are coming in and we have a very happy staff each day the delivery truck arrives. In the upcoming weeks we will share pictures of our students using these resources that we purchased because of your support.
One behalf of all of the OLOL, thank you for all of your continued support of our staff, students, school, and parish. I would also like to pass along my thanks to Mrs. Hendricks, in the office, who was given the task to get all of these items purchased. It was a huge undertaking, but just like everything that Mrs. Hendricks does each day, it was completed efficiently, professionally, and with a positive attitude.
“Do you realize that Jesus is there in the Tabernacle for you - for you alone? He burns with the desire to come into your heart” - St. Therese’ of Lisieux

Lectio Divina
We pray with all Catholics throughout the Green Bay Diocese
| | |
There are different ways to engage in Lectio Divina. If you are a beginner here is a process that will help you get started.
Step 1: Prepare yourself to read scripture. You will need to find a time and location where you will not be interrupted or disturbed. Ready yourself to read God’s word and see how He wants you to respond.
Step 2: Read the scripture and look for words or phrases that jump out at you.
Step 3: Reflect on those words or phrases and what they mean to you.
Step 4: Reread the scripture and spend a few moments in quiet reflection on what God is calling you to do through these words or phrases.
Step 5: Reread the scripture a third time and it is time to respond. What actions will you take after your conversation with God?

Easter Sunday - Resurrection of the Lord
John 20:1-9
Daily Readings from USCCB - View here
On the first day of the week,
Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning, while it was still dark,
and saw the stone removed from the tomb.
So she ran and went to Simon Peter
and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them,
“They have taken the Lord from the tomb,
and we don’t know where they put him.”
So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb.
They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter and arrived at the tomb first;
he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.
When Simon Peter arrived after him,
he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there,
and the cloth that had covered his head,
not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.
Then the other disciple also went in,
the one who had arrived at the tomb first,
and he saw and believed.
For they did not yet understand the Scripture
that he had to rise from the dead.

Wisconsin Tax Deduction for
Tuition Expense
Tax legislation signed into law gives Wisconsin taxpayers the opportunity to deduct private school tuition expenses from their taxable income. A subtraction from income is allowed for tuition expenses that are paid for any of the GRACE schools. Parents/guardians are eligible for a maximum deduction of $4,000 per child in grades K-8 and $10,000 per child in grades 9-12. Students transitioning from eighth to ninth grade are eligible for both deductions. Per state guidance, any amount spent on tuition and book fees are eligible for the deduction. Book fees include digital books, such as laptops or tablet fees issued by the school.
