Dear OLOL Families,
Some of you completed the GRACE Voice of the Customer earlier this calendar year. I was able to look at the survey with a deeper lens and wanted to share what I took away.
I first want to thank those that did complete the survey. I know our lives are busy and these surveys do take time. I am asking that next year when the survey comes out that we have more families complete the survey. Here at OLOL we are trying to become more data-driven with our decisions. In order to do this we need to ensure that we have accurate data. We had roughly 25% of our families complete the survey. We need a higher percentage of families to complete the survey to give us truly accurate data.
One of our highest scores was the question that asked if you feel we have a sense of community and belonging. We had almost a 100% response of yes. This is one of the major reasons we have strong showing on STAR and MAPS testing.
The two areas that weren’t overwhelming were the areas of communications and amount of homework. Over the years I find that these are tough areas to balance. Some years I worry that we over communicate and other years that communication is lacking. I hear from parents that we give too much homework and others that we don’t give enough. These are both areas that will be looked at over the summer so we can find some common ground.
Please save the date of Saturday, June 1st. We will “Bounce into Summer” this Saturday. We will start the day by having our students lead the 4:30pm Saturday Mass. Following Mass we will have a pizza food truck and a desert food truck on our premises along with a few bounce houses. We hope that you can join us and all of the new families that will be joining us next school year.
“Live your faith in your daily lives, at home and in school, and show true Christian love to your schoolmates. Be patient and understanding, pray for each other, help each other, obey the voice of your conscience, and strive for Christian unity with all.” - Pope Paul VI

Lectio Divina
We pray with all Catholics throughout the Green Bay Diocese
| | |
|
There are different ways to engage in Lectio Divina. If you are a beginner here is a process that will help you get started.
Step 1: Prepare yourself to read scripture. You will need to find a time and location where you will not be interrupted or disturbed. Ready yourself to read God’s word and see how He wants you to respond.
Step 2: Read the scripture and look for words or phrases that jump out at you.
Step 3: Reflect on those words or phrases and what they mean to you.
Step 4: Reread the scripture and spend a few moments in quiet reflection on what God is calling you to do through these words or phrases.
Step 5: Reread the scripture a third time and it is time to respond. What actions will you take after your conversation with God?

Sixth Sunday of Easter
John 15:9-17
Daily Readings from USCCB - View here
Jesus said to his disciples:
"As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father's commandments
and remain in his love.
"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you
and your joy might be complete.
This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one's life for one's friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command you.
I no longer call you slaves,
because a slave does not know what his master is doing.
I have called you friends,
because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father.
It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you
and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain,
so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you.
This I command you: love one another."

News from OLOL School Library
May 6- 10 is Children’s Book Week.
We will be celebrating with a “Guess how many bookworms” are in the jar. Whoever
gets the closest without going over wins the gummy worms.
We will also have a book swap on Friday, May 10.
Would your child like some different books to read this summer? Do you have books at home that your child has read and doesn’t want any more?
Each student can bring 1-3 books to the school library during the week of May 6. I’ll record how many they bring.
On Friday, May 10, students can come to the library to choose books to take home from the books contributed. Please
send the books in a bag with your child’s name, grade and number of books. I’m hoping our Book Swap is a big success
and the kids enjoy it.
