Dear OLOL Families,
I hope you had an enjoyable Labor Day week-end and were able to relax after the first full week of school.
We have a few upcoming events in September that I wanted to remind you of. First, Parent Homecoming is Friday, September 13. The flier and registration information is below. We would love to see you there. Second, Grandparents Day is Wednesday, September 18th. Grandparents are welcome to join us for Mass at 9:00AM and stay around until lunch and do some activities with their grandchildren.
We are excited to have Sue Laluzerne join us in the office this week as our new administrative assistant. Many people know Sue and have nothing but great things to say about her. The next time you come to school, stop in and say hello. Welcome Sue.
One of the great gifts of OLOL Catholic School is the overwhelming support we receive from the OLOL. Recently one of the charter members of OLOL passed away. In lieu of flowers they asked that a donation be made to the Blaise Peters Scholarship program here at OLOL. For those of you who don’t know, the Blaise Peters Scholarship is open to any parishioner that wants to send their child to OLOL and needs a little financial assistance. This is one of the many reasons I love about being principal at OLOL. The sense of community is unlike anything that I have experienced.
Lastly, thank you for your support the first week of school. Our teachers noted that they didn’t hear much complaining about the excessive heat the first week of school. I also wanted to share that none of the teachers complained about the heat. Success in life is usually always taking what comes to you and staying positive in every circumstance. I recently shared this quote “ Negative people need drama like oxygen, stay positive and take their breath away”.
“Start where you are, Use what you have, do what you can” Arthur Ashe
