Providing hope & care to women who chose abortion
|
When Desi Goodwin, center director for one of New Life Pregnancy Center’s eight locations, first suggested offering the Bible study Forgiven and Set Free for women in her church who had been through an abortion, she wasn’t sure what the response would be. When 10 women showed up for the Bible study, the need was obvious.
Before the age of 45, one out of four women will have chosen abortion as the solution to an unwanted pregnancy or pregnancies. Considering this jarring statistic, Arizona Southern Baptists have a significant opportunity to offer hope and care to women who may be silently suffering from having made that decision.

Arizona Mission Offering at Work: A needed retreat for a pastor and wife
|
For Dawn and David A. Lee, the Pastors & Wives Retreat held in July 2021 came at just the right time in their lives. David is pastor of Silver Lake Family Fellowship near Show Low. Because you give to the Arizona Mission Offering, you help people like the Lees have a time to relax, refresh and recharge with fellow pastors and wives.

I’ve been to a few churches this year that don’t have a worship leader and struggle with where to find one. It’s a hot topic among normative size churches, and no one has a good solution. As the older generation of worship leaders are retiring, there doesn’t seem to be a pool of younger ones behind them to step up and fill the gap.

Guillermo & Claudia Hernandez
Some of the wealthiest people in the United States call South Florida home. Despite that wealth, however, South Florida also has one of the highest percentages of citizens living below the poverty income level and nearly 80 percent of those do not know Jesus. The region is also home to a wide range of different languages and cultures, which is why Guillermo and Claudia Hernandez moved to the area after investing much of their lives and ministry in Central America. As a result of that background, the Hernandezes were able to plant Iglesia Bautista de Kendall and minister to the Hispanic population in Miami. They also have a heart to reach the next generation of their community and have launched an English-speaking service. Your support through the Cooperative Program helps church planters invest in the people and culture of the communities they serve. Pray that the Lord would continue to guide and direct Guillermo and Claudia, as well as Iglesia Bautista de Kendall, as they reach their community with the Gospel of Jesus.
