Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity | June 7, 2020
The Sunday after Pentecost is celebrated as Trinity Sunday , and it's one of my favorite Sundays of the year. The doctrine of the Trinity -- that God exists as three Persons united in one being -- may seem like abstract theology, but it lies at the heart of Christianity because it reveals to us the inner life of God. As people made in the image of God, the more we know about Who and What God is, the more we know about ourselves and who and what we are made to be. In this week's reflection I try to cut to the chase and get to the heart of what the Trinity is all about by sharing with you my favorite Trinitarian verse in the Bible - 1 Jn 4:8.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you,
Deacon Matt
Pentecost Celebration
Five students from WCU received the sacraments of initiation last weekend at the Vigil of Pentecost at St. Mary's. Two were baptized and three were received into full communion with the Church. All five received the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. Take a look at photos from the celebration on our Facebook Page .
Privilege & Compassion
As Catholics, how are we to respond to the murder of George Floyd? Or to the protests, counter-protests, and riots that have happened across the country since? How are we to find peace in a world filled with injustice? There are no easy answers, but we can offer some words of consolation by letting God have the final word...
Welcoming New Students
Do you know someone who is starting at Western in the Fall, either as a freshman or transfer student? As in-person orientations have been cancelled for the summer, we've created a special page on our web site to introduce our ministry to new students, and invite them to introduce themselves to us. Please pass it along to any student or parent you know who needs to connect with us!

Online Small Groups
Our students are enjoying their on-line Bible study small groups so much they don't want to stop! We're happy to announce that they plan to continue to meet over the summer, and new students are invited to join in.
