January was lovely, giving a moment to connect with many churches and community partners. I thoroughly enjoy the conversation and connection, sharing Love INCs mission and hearing about others! This community is so purposeful in working together! What a blessing, to hear how everyone is engaged in the work of loving and caring for our neighbor.

February came knocking, and life at Love INC is bustling! The Love INC ministries are growing, and we will need to add to our amazing and dedicated staff and volunteers! Our Clearinghouse Care Center has been inundated with phone calls which are increasing every month and we do our very best to keep up, but an increase in caring volunteers is very much needed to answer those calls. We will also add a second Clearinghouse Coordinator to our staff. The Coordinators discern how best to help those who call us. These opportunities are richly rewarding! The New Creation program participation is flourishing as well! It is exciting to experience lives as they stabilize, and their hopes and dreams start to become a reality! With all of this, we realize a New Creation Assistant is needed on staff, as well as volunteer mentors that desire to develop deeper relationship with participants that have requested a mentor. We also have 18 children joining us with their parents who are attending classes, an increase in volunteer childcare is a key in moving forward! February has also been a time of connection. We gathered our Love INC Partner churches, for a beautiful time of sharing everything new happening at Love INC and the many ministries of the churches, such a joy to hear! A yummy lunch and comfortable setting were hosted with our great thanks, by Fowlerville Church of the Nazarene.

We held a well-attended Redemptive Compassion workshop on addressing the complexity of poverty and how can we serve in ways that lift others and can be truly effective. Such rich conversation was had.

Community Connect resource event was a success! Love INC had the opportunity to make great connections, get to know our fellow community partners better along with connecting with many individuals and families that were unaware of Love INC and all the ways we can help!

Love INC gears up for our 16th Annual Cheerful Heart for Giving Dinner on February 24th. Many of the staff and I have been in a flurry of activity as this fundraiser approaches! Tickets are still available! We would love to share this evening of music, fabulous food by Wisk and Ivy, and Love Stories with you!

In all of this busyness, that we strive to do so well, God has continually let me know this ministry is His and all outcomes are His! I focus my eyes on him, my strength is in the Lord. "But those who trust in the Lord will find strength, they will soar high like eagles, they will not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40

One verse that often I reflected upon is Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. I carry this attitude forward in my volunteer work with Love INC.

What has made you volunteer for Love INC for as long as you have? - Ultimately, what keeps me around is that I enjoy being able to help others out, the personal and spiritual growth and to just be associate with such a strong group of Christians. 

On top of the work, they enjoy having fun too. It has been a true answer to my prayers! 

What does volunteering for Love INC mean to you? - Volunteering for Love INC gives me an opportunity to utilize my spiritual gifts of administration, teaching and mercy. It’s a way of acknowledging these gifts from God and utilizing them to give back to the community. I look forward to going into the office once a week to help out, attending the

life? -  On my very first night of attending New Creation my wife prayed that the Lord would use me how He needed me. Having a finance background, it was a no brainer to me that I’d be helping with the Faith and Finance class. Danilynn (New Creation Coordinator) said that she needed me to help in the Affirming Potential class.  As I attended that class over the weeks, it was obvious that the Lord put me where He needed me to be. I think He may have put me in that class more for my growth! It was a true blessing for my personal and spiritual growth.
