Welcoming new people and old friends
February 11, 2020
Love is when you choose to be at your best when the
other person is not at their best.
Love is when what you want is never important. But what
the other person needs and wants is always paramount.

The Google-Doodle 2/1/2020
The event - 2/1/1960
aturday's Google Doodle honored both Black History Month and the 60th Anniversary of the first Greensboro sit-in.
is a diorama of the four men, later known as the A&T Four or Greensboro Four, sitting at a Woolworth lunch counter to order a cup of coffee.
The doodle's artist, Karen Collins of the African American Miniature Museum, said she wanted her diorama to provide hope and teach a younger generation about their history.
"Creating art honoring the Greensboro sit-in (and the Civil Rights Movement it was part of) is my way of giving back to today's generation, especially to those who are in desperate times and troubles-to lift them up and teach them about their history," Collins told Google.

Five Things To Know About 49ers Assistant Katie Sowers, the First Female Coach in Super Bowl History

The offensive assistant helped propel an offensive attack that was second in rushing and second in points during the regular season.
Sports Illustrated had a fascinating article about this talented woman and coach that you might find interesting as it tells the story of her journey to this milestone.
Dear PFLAG members,
Today I'm celebrating my one-year anniversary as Executive Director of PFLAG National -- and I couldn't be more proud of what you helped make possible.
You are building bridges between LGBTQ+ people and their loved ones, educating thousands on allyship and inclusion, strengthening communities across the country, and so much more.
I know you understand what's at stake in 2020. That's why I personally became a PFLAG Guardian monthly giver -- and as one of our most dedicated supporters of equality, I hope you'll join me.
PFLAG Guardians are a special group of members who make convenient, secure, and automated gifts each month, helping us respond quickly when equality is under attack. Right now, states such as South Dakota, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, and others are passing harmful bills, including bills which would prevent trans youth from accessing gender-affirming care. Your monthly gift will mobilize PFLAGers to continue fighting back against any effort to harm our LGBTQ+ children.
I hope to welcome and thank you as a Guardian giver -- and that you'll be #PFLAGProud
to wear your PFLAG pin!

Pastor claims coronavirus is God's 'death angel' to 'purge a lot of sin'
Pastor and pundit Rick Wiles went on a rant where he said that the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak, which has killed over 100 people, is God's plan "to purge a lot of sin off this planet," including transgender children and "sexual immorality."
Wiles is the senior pastor at the non-denominational Flowing Streams Church in Florida as well as the creator of the TruNews streaming channel. He has previously called former President Barack Obama a "demon from Hell" and
warned in October
that "there's gonna be violence" if President Donald Trump is removed from office. His latest comments about the deadly coronavirus
