Thank You Morris Catholic High School Fencing Teams!

Morris Catholic High School brought the boys and girls fencing teams to the day center for a day of service. Forty teenagers spent their Saturday raking and cleaning the grounds, organizing donations, deep cleaning the facility, and learning about homelessness in Morris County.

Thank you to all the kids, parents and coaches for dedicating a chilly Saturday
to making our day center clean and tidy, and helping our guests feel welcomed
and respected!
Lenten Appeal

Ash Wednesday, February 26 to Easter Sunday, April 12

In this Lenten season of reflection and sacrifice, we look back with immense gratitude on the generosity of donors like you whose support took a vital part in providing shelter, meals, case management, life skills classes, connections to social services, and housing for so many families and individuals in need during 2019.

We believe that together we can make this season of Lent an impactful one, because every child deserves a home ! Every individual and family deserves a space to call their own and know it will be there for them at the end of every day!

Please consider donating to keep giving hope to our neighbors in crisis! Donations can be sent to Family Promise of Morris County, P.O. Box 1494, Morristown, NJ 07962. Please mark checks "Lenten Appeal". Thank you!
Thank You West Morris Central High School!

Family Promise was awarded a donation after participating in a panel discussion with other local non-profit agencies for the Philanthropic Club at West Morris Central High School in Long Valley.

The student club members held a fundraiser concert at the school to benefit those in need, including Family Promise. Thank you to the Philanthropic Club for choosing Family Promise and for supporting our neighbors struggling with homelessness!
Elevate Wealth Planning Provides Warmth!

Thank you Elevate Wealth Planning for collecting and donating many needed items for our guests this winter such as scarves, hats, gloves, and sweatshirts. Battling the cold temps and elements outside is a continuous struggle for those experiencing homelessness. Many of our guests will be relieved to gain the extra layer of warmth this winter!
Project Homeless Connect!

Staff and interns from Our Promise once again enjoyed taking part in the annual Project Homeless Connect at St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Morristown.

They offered information on community services, linkages to resources, and support to individuals experiencing homelessness and those at risk of a housing crisis.

Community, compassion, and collaboration together create solutions!

100 Stops for Navigating Hope!

Family Promise's Navigating Hope van recently made its 100th visit in Morris County! Since its inception in June 2019, Navigating Hope has visited almost every municipality in the county reaching almost 2,000 community members in need.

Congratulations to the Navigating Hope team in this outstanding accomplishment!
Family Promise's drop-in center, Our Promise, is displaying a new sign with a powerful message.

Enacting two simple words, Be Kind, can make a tremendous difference in a person's day and perhaps on their general outlook. Thank you to our special donor who creates Be Kind signs as a way to spread kindness, thoughtfulness, and positive gestures!

It's a gentle reminder that can have an enormous impact!
Two Simple Words!
Single Mom in Need of Car!

A successful graduate of our shelter program, who has been living independently with her daughter for 10 years, is in dire need of a car. The mom works full time at a non-profit agency, giving back to the community, and her daughter is a student at Montclair State University, while also interning at a non-profit agency. Sadly, the car that has been their only form of transportation has been deemed unsafe to drive due to extensive rust in the frame.

We are respectfully asking for donations to help this humble family afford a safe, durable car that will last longer than a couple of years so they may continue their successful life of independence and for the mom to continue earning a living. We have received $2,000 in donations so far and have a goal of $5,000 so that the family may purchase a reliable vehicle that won't require frequent, costly repairs.

If you would like to donate a car or contribute funds, please contact Nora Godown at Family Promise, 973-998-0820, ext. 110 or send donations to Family Promise of Morris County, P.O. Box 1494, Morristown, NJ 07962, with "car donation" in memo or click on the picture above.

Role with Family Promise: Executive Assistant at Family Promise

What do you like most about working with FP? My co-workers are wonderful and the agency does such amazing work to help our guests.

Even my daughter has gotten involved! She is 10 years old and began a small business with a few of her friends to raise money for our local animal shelter. They make and sell slime that kids love to play with. They took custom orders on the bus, in their classrooms and playground and raised over $75! The girls were so inspired by the mission at Family Promise that they donated their proceeds to the families in need at FP. They will continue to sell slime with all of the proceeds going to help our families.

Favorite vacation spot? New Orleans – I lived there for 8 years and love the people and the spirit of the city!

How would your friends describe you? friendly, creative, adventurous and fun
