🌴 You could be here! 🌴
Hello FACT Families,

It’s February, and love is in the air! Relationships, dating, intimacy: Let’s talk about sex, baby! We’re serious! Disability is natural, and part of a natural, whole life, is sexuality.

In this month’s newsletter, we’re excited to share some great personal stories and resources as your young person begins to explore their sexuality. In addition, I would, again, encourage you to join us at one of our Regional Learning Summits, which are a great opportunity to learn more about what living a whole life can look like for your child. Both Newport and Eugene are just around the corner!

Speaking of romance, wouldn't you LOVE to get away to Mexico, or to Hawaii? Both destinations await at Dream Big Dreams on March 5th . This special evening features food, wine and beer and fantastic auction items, including a 7-night stay in beautiful Waikiki, Hawaii (pictured above), and a debut of our new children's storybook Dream To Go Far. We hope you will join us.

We're also raffling off an exciting 8-day, 7-night stay in Mexico. This is an incredible opportunity to support FACT Oregon from wherever you are, because you don't have to be present to win.

Remember, your generosity ensures every family experiencing disability can receive empowering, peer-to-peer support to dream big dreams and pursue whole lives!

Onward!

Yes, we're serious! As your young person may begin to explore their sexuality, here are some great personal stories and resources to check out:

An essay from photographer, artist, and writer Trista McGovern, who uses her personal life experiences to promote awareness and education about ableism through the lens of disability and sexuality.

An interview with Alexander Presthus, a man who experiences CP, and Christina Casetti, his long-term able-bodied partner, about how they initially felt out, built up, and now manage their sexual and intimate life together.

A wealth of tools, guides, and videos to help start the conversation about holistic sexual health education.
