Strive to Thrive

I Am an Artists:

Documentation

Documentation helps preserve your work, knowledge, and progress over time. Whether it's a simple list, organized files, or a detailed archive, the way you document your work can affect your ability to share it, build on it, and recover from unexpected challenges. Reflect on your current practices: if you needed to find important information tomorrow, how easy would it be? Where do you fall on the documentation spectrum?

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

ADEBUSOLA KING ADEBOYEJO

WAZO

Porto, Portugal

Tell us about yourself.

Adebusola is a Nigerian-American cinematographer, multimedia researcher, and founder based in Portugal whose work explores migration, identity, and interactive storytelling across film and digital platforms. Alongside documentary and visual storytelling work, he is building wazo.work, a relocation planning platform inspired by his own experience navigating international systems as a student and creative worker abroad. His practice exists at the intersection of media, technology, and cultural access.

I thrive when I...

I thrive when I can turn lived experience into something useful for other people, especially through storytelling, collaboration, and systems that help people feel less alone navigating difficult transitions.

Scott spent over thirty years in sales and marketing in the Direct Marketing industry. During this time, he worked in both Corporate America and with small businesses, including advertising agencies and non-profits.

His coaching includes in person workshops, online webinars, Lunch and Learns and One on One coaching. Topics include: Understanding Business for Artists and Creatives, Sales and Marketing, Pricing Strategies, Networking, and Social Media/Websites.

SELF-CARE CORNER

Watch: Your elusive creative genius | Elizabeth Gilbert

In her TED Talk, "Your Elusive Creative Genius,"Elizabeth Gilbert encourages artists to see creativity as a lifelong practice rather than a measure of their value or success. This perspective connects closely to documentation because keeping records of your work allows you to see your growth over time, not just the outcomes of individual projects. Gilbert's message reminds artists that showing up consistently matters, and documentation can serve as a meaningful way to honor that effort, recognize progress, and build a lasting record of a creative life.
