Lovejoy High School
A Message from the Principal
Lovejoy HS News 04 15 19

P arents and Guardians,

Last week was a busy week at LHS as almost all of our 9th and 10th grade students took the End of Course (EOC) Exams for English I and English II. LHS staff administered almost 800 tests on Tuesday and Thursday, and your students did a great job of being flexible with the testing schedule and the changes to their normal school routine. We have a break for a couple of weeks, but will continue EOC and AP Exams in early May.
It is my great pleasure to share some recent news from CollegeBoard about two LHS students' performances on last year's AP Exams. Mark Wen and Emma Wigginton both earned every point possible on an AP Exam. Mark was one of only 193 students around the world who received a perfect score on his Computer Science A Exam.  Emma also had a perfect score on her Studio Art: Drawing Portfolio Exam and was one of the only 18 in the world. Congratulations to both of these students as well as Pam Ford and Brice McCasland who taught Mark and Emma in these courses.
Don't forget that this Friday, April 19th is a school holiday for staff and students. LHS offices will be closed but will reopen on Monday, April 22nd.
Have a great week!

Lovejoy Offers Group Counseling
Lovejoy is offering group counseling for students for a variety of areas. The groups will meet weekly, during school hours, and will be facilitated by Lovejoy's Social Worker, Noelle Gove, LCSW. The overall goal of the counseling groups is to address student's social/emotional needs that may be impacting their experience and success at school. Groups are being offered, based on need, to every campus in the district, grades K-12.
If you are interested in your student participating in a group, please click here to complete the interest form. Noelle Gove will be in contact with parents regarding further details of the group and to obtain consent for student participation. This form is not a consent for counseling, but rather a survey of interest.
