Lovejoy High School
A Message from the Principal
Lovejoy HS News 10 09 18

P arents and Guardians,

I hope you and your student had the opportunity to spend some meaningful time together this past weekend.  Christy and I used the extended break to travel and see our daughter Callie (Class of 2018) at the University of Arkansas, and spend some time with my parents in Oklahoma.  It was a great break, and we really enjoyed the extra days off.
A few important things happening this week are PSAT testing tomorrow and the end of the 1st Grading Period on Friday. All 9th -11th grade students will report to their assigned rooms to take the PSAT test at 8:45 a.m. tomorrow, and they are typically finished around 1:00 p.m. 9th graders will eat lunch at approximately 12:00. 10th and 11th graders will eat around 12:30. Your student should bring a couple of sharpened #2 pencils and a calculator for the test.  Seniors will report to the Auditorium at 11:45 a.m. for Senior Project information and a presentation from Jostens with information about ordering graduation items.
Please take a few minutes to review the information below about important dates and events.
Have a great week!

Chris Mayfield

Through the program, National PTA, Lovejoy Local and Council PTAs, and PTAs across the country urge students in preschool through grade 12 to create and submit original works. This year's contest theme is "Heroes Around Me".  We hope all Leopards will submit an entry in one or more of the following categories: Dance Choreography, Literature, Film Production, Photography, Visual Arts, and Music Composition - reflecting on the specific theme. There is a special artist division option for students with disabilities to ensure all students have the opportunity to participate in the program. Students are recognized each year for their artistic ingenuity to bring the theme to life in a way that is personal and meaningful . For rules and entry forms,  click here  .  The deadline is Friday, November 2nd.
