P arents and Guardians,

Here we go! On Monday, August 20th, we will welcome students back for the first day of school.  I know I speak for all our LHS staff when I say we are excited to see your students and begin a new year.
I wanted to send a specific email about next week and some important information you and your student may need. The email may be a little lengthy, but please read it through to the end.

In an effort to be as efficient as possible, we prioritize our parent email as follows:
* New or time-sensitive topics of interest are at the top of the list
* Followed by the Calendar of Events and Activities
* Older items appear below the calendar until they become obsolete
If you would like to update your district/campus email preferences or change your email address, please click on the  Update Profile link at the footer of this email. You will receive an email from Constant Contact which will allow you to update your information and campus news preferences.

Start of School Information

Student Schedule Pickup
All students will need to pick up a fresh schedule on the 1st day of school at the following locations:
  • Freshmen - left side of the commons
  • Sophomores - right side of the commons
  • Juniors - Auditorium Lobby
  • Seniors - Main Gym Lobby before breakfast, commons after breakfast
NOTE: If your student will not be attending the first day of school, please have them go to the counselors' office upon their return. They will need to see Jan McGill before they can attend any of their classes.
Student Passwords
All student passwords will expire after 10:00 pm on August 19th. Student passwords will then be set back to student ID numbers.  The login format will remain the same as previous school years:
username: lastname_firstname
password: StudentID
Ex: Suzie Jones with her ID #12345 will log in as:
Lunch Schedule
Click here for the 2018-19 Lunch Schedule. Students who have 'A' lunch do not need to go to class first - they should go directly to the cafeteria.

Senior 1st Day Breakfast and Senior Walk
We encourage all seniors to attend the Senior 1st Day Breakfast on August 20th beginning at 8:30 am in the LHS Auxiliary Gym. The Senior Walk will take place at 9:30 am. Parents are welcome to join us in the courtyard for some picture taking opportunities!
Schedule Change Information
Students who would like a schedule change will need to fill out a Google Form which will be distributed at 4:15 pm on the 1st day of school through grade level Google Classrooms (ex: Class of 2020). The link to the form will also be available on the LHS Website by clicking the dropdown "Departments" then "Counseling". Changes will only be made if space is available, and priority will be given to seniors on down to freshmen. Students will not be able to request dropping an AP Course ( AP Drop Policy ), a specific teacher, or a specific lunch period.
School Pictures
All School pictures will be taken in the Auditorium Lobby.
  • Senior Portraits are by appointment on Tuesday, August 21st
  • Underclassmen pictures will be taken in Social Studies classes as follows:
    • Wednesday, August 22nd
      • Baker, Barter, Bonilla, Coachman
    • Thursday, August 23rd
      • Bracey, Daugherty, Dillow, Hogan, Jones, Lewis, O'Bryant, Wilson

Parent Drop Off and Pickup
The drop off and pick up point for students is on the North side (or rear) of LHS. There is no student pick-up in the front of the school as this area is for buses only. Please do not park in the front LHS parking area to pick up your students. Click here for the Traffic Flow Diagram.
Parents should enter using the West entrance (closest to Angel Parkway) and proceed around the back of LHS. Traffic during the first few days of school is always heavier so please be patient as you wait in line.
Student Parking
Student drivers need a parking permit to park at LHS. If your student needs to purchase a permit, click here for detailed instructions.
