A Message from the Principal
April 27, 2020

Parents and Guardians,

I am excited to invite you to participate in two activities that begin this week in support of our Seniors.

The first is our annual Senior Letter Writing Campaign. We are inviting everyone to write a note or letter to as many Seniors as they wish. We will collect these and include them in their individual Senior Packet that each graduate will receive on May 30th. To participate, simply click on the following link and either upload your note or write it in the space provided.

Along with writing letters this week, I also want to invite you to post a note of encouragement to the Class of 2020 on your social media account with the hashtag #LOJOSRS2020. Let’s show our Seniors how much we care about them.

Current LHS Junior Elle Brumley is also giving our community another opportunity to celebrate our Seniors. Please take a few minutes to read about her Adopt-A-Senior project along with the other information below.

Sincerely,

Chris Mayfield

Event Updates
Graduation Celebration - May 30, 2020

We will be honoring our seniors at a Graduation Celebration on Saturday, May 30th at 10:00 AM. Each s enior has been invited to dress in their Cap and Gown, decorate their car, and report to the LHS student parking that morning. Parents and sibling are encouraged to ride in the car with their graduate. Each graduate will drive across the front driveway of the high school where their names will be announced via speaker system. The seniors will receive their diploma and embark on a parade route that runs through a few LISD neighborhoods as well as each LISD campus. Teachers will be parked at each campus and encouraged to decorated vehicles, and make signage to support our graduates.

We will also share the route with our community so yard signs can be made and everyone can cheer from their front yard, or park a car along the parade route to honk for our graduates.

If restrictions allow, we will also be planning a more traditional ceremony on July 25th at the LHS Football Field for graduates and their immediate families.
AP Testing

If you still need to pay for AP Exams you can pay online at https://lovejoy.revtrak.net/LHS-AP-Exams/#/list or you can mail a check to Lovejoy High School with the student's name and AP exams listed on the memo line.

Adopt a Senior - Senior Project

Ella Brumley has many senior friends and wanted to find a way to support them as they deal with the disappointment of missing out on some important milestones.  As Varsity Spirit Cheer Captain this year she got to see first hand the exciting growth in community and school spirit. What better way to keep that momentum going than to adopt a senior and help them celebrate.

We would like the support of the entire Lovejoy community! Just follow this link  or go to Facebook and search for Adopt a 2020 Lovejoy Senior. Ask to join, and you will be added shortly. Once you are in, read ALL the rules and then add your post or adopt a senior. Once you have adopted a senior, it is up to you to bless them with goodies, send them some mail, bring them their favorite drinks, just show them some love! All the information is on the page about sharing information, and even a list the seniors can fill out to share with their adoptees.

If you are not on Facebook, but would still like to participate or if you have any questions please contact Ella, by email at  Brumley_ella@loveloyisd.com
