Parents and Guardians,
I hope you and your student had a good transition back to school last week. The first week of any semester can be challenging, but I hope things are getting back in a routine and have smoothed out for you.
Last night, LHS held our Advanced Academics Banquet and spent the evening honoring the 275 students who were recognized by College Board as Advanced Placement Scholars based on their performance on AP Exams last May. We also honored our National Merit Semi-Finalists and Commendees It was a great evening as we celebrated the success these students have achieved through their hard work and the support of parents and teachers. Congratulations again to this group!
As a reminder, next Monday, January 17th, LISD will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Please take a few minutes to review the rest of the information that can be found below in this email. We will continue to update the schedule and information throughout the semester. Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Chris Mayfield

Parent Communication Update
Lovejoy ISD has implemented the use of School Messenger to notify parents when students are absent from class. Messages will be sent via phone call each evening. If you have already contacted the Attendance Office regarding the absence, you may ignore the call. As always, you may view your student’s daily attendance in the Parent Portal to verify if the absence has already been documented. The District is committed to joining forces with parents to ensure timely communication is provided to assist with your student’s safety and school experience.
