On Monday evening, the Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved Katie Kordel as the new Superintendent of Lovejoy ISD. We are excited to welcome Ms. Kordel to Lovejoy and hope that you will join us for a Community Connection Event on:

All LISD Buildings Closed

Lovejoy High School will be closed two weeks for the District summer break beginning Friday, June 18th.
If students are in need of a VOE during the break, please send in the request this week by Wednesday, June 16th at 4:00 pm.

College and Career Essay Workshop
Tuesday, July 13th
The college essay workshop will be held from 10:00- 11:00 am in the LHS Lecture Hall. This will be a time for the counselors to review college essay expectations for college application season. Students will have a chance to discuss topics and expectations from the college admissions process.

College App Workshop
Thursday, July 15th
The college app workshop will be held from 10:00- 11:00 am in the LHS Lecture Hall. This will be a time for the students to learn and discuss the nuances of the college application systems, Apply Texas and The CommonApp.

2021-22 Senior Portraits
Monday, July 19th - Thursday, July 22nd
Senior portrait sessions are going on this week for those that have already signed up. Seniors will have another opportunity for portraits in July.
Appointments will be required to get your portraits taken and you can sign up at www.bephoto.com. Click the link for “Senior Yearbook Session Sign-Up”. The session is FREE and includes a formal pose (tux or drape) plus a cap & gown pose and takes about 15 minutes. (All clothing is provided). The sign-up link also has many answers to frequently asked questions.

Transcripts
Final transcripts for 2021 Seniors will be sent out free of charge this summer. Click here to fill out the Senior Survey so we will know where to send your final transcript.
Transcripts for 2022 Seniors will be available beginning July 6th.

VOE (Verification of Enrollment)
If students need a VOE during the break, please send in the request this week to rodricka_taylor@lovejoyisd.net by Wednesday, June 16th at 4:00 pm. Any requests received after that time will be available for pick up starting Tuesday, July 6th.

Averi Carlson - Women's Indoor U20 National Training Team
Congratulations to Averi Carlson, Lovejoy High School Rising Senior, on being selected as one of 20 athletes named to the Women's Indoor U20 National Training Team (NTT).
The USA Volleyball press release may be found here and shares the following:
"The Training Team will produce the 12-player roster that will compete in the 2021 FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship held July 9-18 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Kortrijk, Belgium. All members of the Women’s U20 National Training Team will participate in a training camp held June 28-July 8 at UNLV in Las Vegas, Nevada, before the team is selected and travels to the competition site.
Most of the U20 NTT members have graduated high school. Ten are entering their first year of college this fall, and six will begin their second. Four are currently high school seniors."

Andrew James was recently featured in the Organic Farming Research Foundation’s newsletter. Andrew wants to shed some attention on his Permaculture Club and create a legacy so that the garden can impact, and inspire more students and community members each year.
