Lovejoy High School News
A Message from the Principal
March 14, 2022
Parents and Guardians,

I hope you and your student had a great Spring Break. Whether you left town or stayed around here last week, I hope you were able to spend some quality time with your student.

With the end of Spring Break comes the reality that we are entering the last grading period of the school year. The next 11 weeks will be full of concerts, performances, banquets, AP Exams, EOC Exams, Final Exams and the seemingly million other events that the end of a school year brings. Please continue partnering with teachers, counselors, and principals as we want your child to finish strong in this last quarter.

As a reminder, this Wednesday, March 16th is the last LHS Professional Development day of the school year. All other campuses in the district will have a normal school day for students and staff, but it will be a student holiday for LHS students. Administrative staff will be answering phones and available at the front desk if you need anything from the campus on that day.

Below you will find more information about events going on at LHS. You will also find a new graphic that shows attendance rates at each of the LISD campuses for a one-week period. We know attendance is essential for student success and being at school gives them the most opportunities to learn. It is also true that our district funding is tied to student attendance and therefore essential for us to continue providing students with the best education we can. I wanted to include the graphic to help you know how we were doing as a campus, and also to help us earn bragging rights as we compete against our other campuses for the best attendance rate.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Chris Mayfield
Principal
Lovejoy High School
