A Message from the Principal
March 2, 2020

Parents and Guardians,

I want to say a big "Thank You" to all the staff, parent, and student volunteers who made this past weekend's STEM ( S cience,  T echnology,  E ngineering, and  M ath) Festival a great success. We had the opportunity to host several hundred people here at LHS who listened to presentations, engaged in competitions, and participated in demonstrations that highlighted many of the different possibilities for students and adults who are interested in STEM. This has now become an annual event and we are truly proud of the experience it provides for our kids and community.

This Wednesday, March 4th, all 11th grade students will be taking the SAT during the schoolday. The test is only for current 11th grade students and is free of charge. 11th graders should arrive at LHS that morning at 7:45 so they can get to their assigned rooms and begin testing at approximately 8:00 a.m. Also, we will not call classrooms to dismiss 11th graders that day to maintain an uninterrupted testing environment for all testers. More Information about SchoolDay SAT will be coming from the Counselor's office.

One more reminder of how fast the school year is moving is that this week is the final week in the 3rd Quarter Grading Period. Please reach out to your student's teachers, counselors, or principal for any questions or concerns you may have with their progress.

As a reminder, LHS will be closed Monday through Friday of next week (March 9th - 13th) for Spring Break. If you or your student needs any paperwork, like a VOE for a driver's license or a transcript sent to a university, please let us know as early as possible this week so we can make sure and take care of that for you. Please take a few minutes to review the information and events listed below.

Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Chris Mayfield
Principal
