A Message from the Principal
November 11, 2019

Parents and Guardians,

Congratulations to our Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams for their success at the UIL Cross Country State Championships this past weekend. Amy Moreland placed 3rd individually in 5A and led our girl’s team to a 6th place overall finish. The boys were led by Will Muirhead who placed 4th individually and the team was 5th. Both teams had another dominant year and have so much to be proud of. Both our Boys' and Girls' programs are some of the strongest in the state, and our coaches and athletes are incredible representatives of LHS.

Please take a few moments to review important information about upcoming dates, events, and student success below.

Have a great week!

Reminder! Lovejoy Letter Campaign Ends November 15!
The 6th annual Lovejoy Letter Campaign is currently underway. Our goal is to have our community write appreciation letters for each teacher and staff member in Lovejoy ISD before the Thanksgiving break.

We would be grateful if you would write letters to any teacher or staff member who has been valuable to your child's educational experience. It can be from this current year, or someone who has made an impact in the past. Please label the envelope with “LLC” and the staff or teacher's name, then drop off the letter to the front office of your school by Friday, November 15th.

The letter campaign has become a meaningful tradition in our community. We appreciate your time and effort to this year's letter campaign. Also, don’t forget the kids! The teachers and staff love to hear from the students they are impacting.

New! Lovejoy Robotics
All 6 teams from LHS went to Southlake to compete in the Tower Takeover competition and we had many great successes throughout the day. Every team made it to the elimination rounds, which is a fantastic accomplishment, and team 1082B made it to the finals. 1082B (finalists) won the Amaze Award for the best overall design and build. 1082A (semifinalists) won the Innovate Award for best use of the engineering design process.

1082Y, Lovejoy’s first all girls competitive robotics team, did an incredible job at their first full-day competition. They worked hard the entire day revising, building, persevering and they truly showed the heart of a Lovejoy Leopard in how they worked together and battled through the day. We are honored and proud of the great example they set today and we are excited to follow their journey throughout the season.

We are super proud of every team for their accomplishments and efforts at the Southlake competition.
