Parents and Guardians,
I hope you and your student enjoyed the Thanksgiving Break last week and had the opportunity to spend some time together as a family. We didn’t have our normal Thanksgiving Celebration with extended family, but Christy and I really enjoyed having three of our kids with us that day.
Below you will find information about upcoming events and activities. A couple of items I want to highlight include our Virtual Fine Arts Festival in a couple of weeks as well as information regarding selecting your child’s learning environment for the first half of the Spring semester.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Chris Mayfield
Principal

The LISD Covid Cases dashboard includes active cases of both on-campus students/staff and virtual students/staff. If a student /staff member is participating virtually and/or has NOT come to campus for any class or activity, the dashboard will include the case, but the campus will NOT notify parents or staff.

As we move into the holiday season, this year will need to look a little different to help keep our families and community safe. The CDC has provided some suggestions on how to celebrate while being mindful and careful during this pandemic. The following information reminds us that we can all do our part to help each other.

ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) Test
Thursday, December 3rd
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery measures your student's knowledge and ability in ten different areas. It is not an IQ test, but the ASVAB does help the US Military assess which jobs they are best suited to perform.
Taking this test does not commit students to the military and this is the only planned test administration this year.
For any other questions, you can contact your student's counselor.

The best way to spread holiday cheer is singing loud for all to hear!
The Lovejoy High School Choir is excited to announce our first-ever drive-thru Carol-O-Grams Experience! In a year that has been difficult for many, we wanted to offer an extraordinary opportunity for Lovejoy students, families and community members to get a big dose of holiday cheer - in a safe, joyful, music-filled way. This one-of-a-kind drive-thru experience will include freshly-baked sweet treats, hot cocoa, beautiful harmonies, a fun game with prizes, an appearance by Buddy the Elf, and even a safe photo-op with Santa!
SANTA? Santa, here? I know him! I know him!
Tickets are sold in 30 minute entry windows and must be purchased in advance. The event will take place at LHS in the back parking lot, and each guest’s experience should take approximately 30-45 minutes from arrival.
There’s room for everyone on the Nice List!
This Carol-O-Grams Experience has been created with our youngest Lovejoy students and their families in mind, but will be fun for all ages!
