A Message from the Principal
November 9, 2020

Parents and Guardians,

It’s difficult to believe how fast the semester is moving and that we are almost half way through the 2nd 9 Weeks of school. That means we have our Thanksgiving Break coming in just a few weeks and Final Exams are a little over a month away. I hope the upcoming holiday season will be a great time for you and your student.
As we continue moving through the semester don’t hesitate to reach out to your student’s teachers, counselor, or assistant principal for any help and support you or your student may need. Also, please take a few minutes to review the important information and upcoming events listed below.
I hope you and your student have a great week.

Notes from the Nurse
Please pay close attention to how your child is feeling as we enter the allergy/cold/ and flu season. We have seen several positive Covid-19 cases presenting with only allergy symptoms. Covid-19 and strep throat have also appeared together.

This Covid and Other IIlness Symptoms Chart may help you distinguish the difference

When symptomatic, it is best to stay home and attend virtual school. Below is an example of how easily Covid-19 spreads.
Stay safe and healthy,

The 7th Annual Lovejoy Letter Campaign Deadline
Friday, November 13th
Lovejoy Family!! The 7th annual Lovejoy Letter Campaign for teachers and staff members has begun! Many of you are familiar with this beloved tradition, but for those of you who are not, it is the time of year when we write appreciation letters for each of our teachers and staff members across the district.
The letters do not have to be elaborate or lengthy. The goal is just for people to write a note of thanks to show appreciation to their teachers, the staff and administration in our district. It is the opportunity for us to take the time to let each person who makes a difference for us throughout the school day know how much we value them.

Please clearly label the envelope with the staff/teacher’s name and LLC (Lovejoy Letter Campaign) and return the letter to the box located at specified location of each campus no later than Friday November 13th. Please feel free to share this message as we spread the word about the campaign. We do not want to add any extra burden to our kids and parents, but we do want to share how much we appreciate our teachers and staff - especially this year in these very unusual times!

ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) Test
Thursday, December 3rd

If your student is interested in taking the ASVAB test, they can sign up here

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery measures your student's knowledge and ability in ten different areas. It is not an IQ test, but the ASVAB does help the US Military assess which jobs they are best suited to perform.

Taking this test does not commit students to the military and this is the only planned test administration this year.

For any other questions, you can contact your student's counselor.
