Lovejoy High School News
A Message from the Principal
August 3, 2020

Parents and Guardians,

On Friday I sent out information regarding learning options for your student this fall. If you missed those communications, please take a few moments to watch the district video and read them completely. Those items can be found here:

Over the weekend we received several emails with questions regarding the Learning Options. We have compiled these as part of a district webpage that is being continually updated with more information about the learning plan. You can access the page from the district website splash page titled “2020-2021 School Year” or click the link that can be found here. It contains items such as campus schedules and a FAQ.

We are continuing to update information regarding the start of school. Please read below to make sure you have the latest details regarding these events.

Event Updates
Parking Permits Update

Due to parents having an extended time to choose virtual or face to face options we are delaying parking selections for all students. We will not open parking selection the week of Monday August 3rd but will delay until a later date. We don’t want parents who aren’t sure of their decision to feel pressure to pay for a parking space when their child may be fully virtual.
Technology Request

If you have not already, please take a few minutes and complete the following link LHS Fall 2020 Tech Survey/Request Form to let us know if your child will need technology. This form will help our technology staff select the correct device for your child (different devices are needed for different course requirements) based on their final schedule. Technology and Textbook Pickup will take place the week of August 10th with different grade levels coming to LHS on different days.

School Supply List

Compiling a list of common items needed for Lovejoy High School is a bit difficult considering the diversity of classes. Knowing that many of you may want to shop for school supplies before you receive the complete list from teachers, we invite you to click SUPPLIES to consult a spreadsheet that details what items are needed for each department. Please note that there are 5 tabs, one for each of the core subjects: English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and LOTE.
Summer Reading List and Assignments

All English courses have a list of choice summer reads. Students must select a summer reading book to enjoy during the summer. The book and assignments are listed online. Dual Credit courses do not have a reading assignment.
VOE (Verification of Enrollment)

Students needing a VOE for their drivers license can email Tanya Barger at
