We Appreciate Our DSPs

In the heart of our organization lies a group of remarkable individuals who are the unsung heroes of our mission. They are the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), the dedicated and compassionate individuals who work tirelessly to support and empower the individuals we serve.

As we reflect on the invaluable contributions of our DSPs, we can't help but be filled with gratitude. These incredible professionals are the driving force behind our programs, providing essential care, guidance, and mentorship to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Their commitment extends far beyond the call of duty, as they help individuals build life skills, foster independence, and become active members of their communities. With unwavering patience and empathy, DSPs inspire confidence and self-worth in those they serve.

This week, we are taking time to say THANK YOU to our DSPs. Your dedication and hard work are the foundation of our organization's success. You are the everyday heroes who transform lives, and your impact ripples through our community.

To our DSPs, your compassion, resilience, and commitment to our mission are deeply appreciated. You are the shining stars of our organization, and we are profoundly grateful for all that you do.

Thank you for being the heart and soul of our organization. We are honored to have you on our team.

Center Spotlights

Marina dreams of becoming a teacher so recently she shared a history lesson on Prince Vladimer. After she completed her interesting lesson, she shared a beautiful Robert Pattinson song on the guitar! This is not Marina's first time teaching as about a year ago she also gave a history lesson on London. Marina loves soaking up information about London because she dreams of traveling there some day. You did an amazing job teacher Marina!

Kelly branched out and joined a different group, the Hearty Kitchen Academy, to make yummy homemade macaroni and cheese. The group learned lots of kitchen safety and how to make homemade mac and cheese while having a lot of fun doing it! Way to go Kelly!

Meet Kimberly Rubino

Kimberly Rubino is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and moved to Charlotte County in 2004. After graduating from Lemon Bay High School, Kimberly attended Florida International University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. After graduating from FIU, Kimberly attended Stetson University College of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree in May 2017. Kimberly has always had a love and passion for animals. While in law school, Kimberly interned at Tampa Zoo with their in-house counsel, was President of the Animal Legal Defense Fund, and was even sworn in as an attorney at Tampa Zoo after passing the Florida Bar Exam.

Currently, Kimberly is the civil litigation attorney for the McCrory Law Firm, where she handles many different areas of law including construction litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, breach of contract matters, will and trust contests, and more. Prior to becoming a civil attorney, Kimberly was an Assistant State Attorney for the 20th Judicial Circut where she was able to prosecute both misdemeanor and felony crimes, as well as utilize her skills and passions to prosecute specialized tracks for domestic violence and animal abuse crimes.

Kimberly was introduced to Loveland Center by our VP of Programs, Becca Eldredge during their Leadership Charlotte Program. Kimberly was immediately drawn towards Loveland's mission, having experienced firsthand the everyday fight for inclusivity with her older sister Krystal.

Kimberly's family has always worked to live up to Loveland's mission; for example, Kimberly and Krystal performed in dance competitions together as kids, Krystal would ride roller coasters (while Kimberly watched), the whole family would go boating and tubing, and so many more adventures. Kimberly is honored to have joined the Loveland Center.

Recaps

The Incredible Bulk at Bikini Beach was a success

Our individuals recently completed their first theater production, showcasing "The Incredible Bulk at Bikini Beach" by Tim Kelly and directed by Luke McFatrich, Loveland Theatre Manager. Their dedication and teamwork shone through as they took the stage, bringing laughter and inspiration to the audience. Their talent and resilience were on full display, reminding us all of the boundless potential within each of them. We're excited for the creative journeys that lie ahead and can't wait to see what they'll achieve next. Bravo!

The Loveland Store set up a sale during the theatre production which was a wonderful addition to the evening! The items on display were unique, beautifully crafted and so colorful. Alexa, Jessica Baird, Visual Arts Instructor and Becca Eldridge, VP of Programs, did a great job keeping up with all of the sales for the night!

We are grateful to the Skinner Family for the Skinner Match. Skinner match donations were matched dollar-for-dollar up to $60,000! Skinner Match donors were invited to a pre-event cocktail party to celebrate the exciting opening night! Thank you to all who donated!

Staff Appreciation Day!

Our recent staff appreciation day was a reflection of our gratitude for our incredible team. It was a day of bonding and fun, featuring socialization with staff from all of the centers, team building games, volleyball, cornhole, chalk art and even a thrilling water slide. Our CEO/President Patrick Guerin & his wife Shannon, Becca Eldridge, Kathy Loughran, and Lauren Osmond, served a delicious lunch for staff. The day culminated in a spirited bike race, symbolizing unity and teamwork. It was a heartfelt reminder of the importance of staff appreciation and the community we've built together. Thank you to our dedicated team for all that they do!
