Loving, Growing, & Serving Together at Harrison...

You don’t have to wait for everything to feel settled to take a step forward. This is a week for quiet courage—for choosing what is right, even when it’s not easy, and for staying rooted in what matters most. Let your actions reflect the life you’re being called toward. Even small, faithful steps can carry more weight than you realize. Move with intention. There is purpose unfolding in the way you choose to show up.

Lenten Practices Cue Card

Each week throughout Lent, a simple card will be shared during Sunday worship and included in the weekly e-news, offering a few thoughtful ways to engage the season through worship, prayer, study, giving, and fasting. Below are the cards distributed Sunday, March 22.

We’re Packing Hope This Sunday

Join us this Sunday, March 29 at 10 a.m., for the final Come to the Table gathering of the Lenten season as we put our noisy offering into action.

Over the past few weeks, those gifts have been building toward something tangible. Together, we’ll pack Fresh Start Kits for neighbors moving out of homelessness and into housing—each one filled with everyday essentials like detergent, soap, and cleaning supplies that help turn a space into a home.

These kits will support Roof Above, a Charlotte organization providing shelter, housing, and support for people experiencing homelessness, helping create a path toward stability.

Preparation is already underway. This past Sunday evening, Harrison youth volunteered their time to shop for the supplies needed for the kits. A group of teenagers buying what looked like a small mountain of Tide didn’t go unnoticed—and sparked more than a few “what is going on here?” moments. In those conversations, they shared what led them there—a desire to love their neighbors in real, practical ways—and spoke about why this work matters to them.

Now it’s time to come together and finish what’s been started.

There is something to celebrate here—what has been given, what we get to create, and who it will bless.

Everyone is invited, whether it’s your first time or you’ve been here all season. Come be part of it.

Life-Saving AEDs Now in Place

Thanks to the faithful giving of our congregation, we are excited to share that three new AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) have been installed across campus. These life-saving devices strengthen our ability to respond quickly and effectively in a cardiac emergency, helping ensure the safety and well-being of everyone who gathers here.

Today, our staff also completed training to use these devices, adding another layer of care and preparedness.

Your generosity continues to make a real, tangible difference—equipping us to meet urgent needs and care for our community in meaningful ways.

AED locations:

• Hammill Hall lobby

• Sanctuary Narthex

• Education Building (across from the kitchen)

Men's Breakfast and Campus Cleanup

Outdoor Campus Clean Up.jpg

Help get the campus looking its best as we prepare to celebrate Easter. The Men’s Ministry is hosting a Campus Cleanup on Saturday, March 28, spreading pine straw and mulch to freshen up the grounds.

The morning begins with breakfast at 9:00 AM, followed by the cleanup starting at 10:00 AM.

Bring garden gloves, a rake, pitchfork, or any tools that might help with moving and spreading mulch, and come be part of getting the campus ready for the Easter season.

You can request a shawl by emailing Joy.

Women’s Retreat | May 1–3

Your paragraph text (Facebook Cover).jpg

The women of Harrison are invited to a weekend retreat at Epworth by the Sea on St. Simons Island, Georgia, from May 1–3.

Set aside time for rest, renewal, and meaningful connection as we step away from the busyness of daily life and gather together for a weekend of reflection, prayer, conversation, and encouragement. Inspired loosely by The Red Tent by Anita Diamant, the retreat will offer space to share stories, spend unhurried time with God, and reconnect with one another.

Space is limited.
