Project Update - Downtown Johnstown Wayfinding and Signage
The Town has finalized the designs of the Downtown Johnstown Wayfinding Signage and is in the process of awarding an RFP for fabrication and installation for Phase 1 of the wayfinding signage.
The final signage and wayfinding designs include a total of 4 unique sign types that create a sense of arrival into Downtown Johnstown, and start to create a cohesive and easy-to-follow wayfinding system for the historic downtown area.
The overall design is grounded in the new Downtown Johnstown brand, which incorporates several iconic downtown elements, including a historic building architectural feature, a representation of the unique downtown light fixture, and a historic themed clock that marks the time when the notable meteor landed in the Johnstown community.
For each sign type, a variety of informational panels are designed to help direct drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists to various downtown destinations and experiences. To reduce costs and increase durability, written information is direct printed where possible, with auto directional information having reflective text that will be illuminated by auto headlights at night.
Keep up with the project at johnstownco.gov/DowntownIdentity

Johnstown joins a number of neighboring municipalities in establishing an outdoor watering schedule for 2023. With the expected heat this summer and estimated water use by the community, the goal of a watering schedule is to spread the demand on water out over the week and at various times so that the Town’s water tanks have time to refill for continued use by the entire community.
The watering schedule, information about non-potable water, resources for conserving water and developing more resilient grass, and more are available on the Town’s website at johnstownco.gov/WateringSchedule.

Fireworks - Not in Johnstown
If it leaves the ground and/or explodes then it is considered an illegal firework in the Town of Johnstown. The Town’s municipal code states, “Public displays of either fireworks or pyrotechnic
displays may be conducted only if the person, partnership, association or corporation desiring to conduct the same applies for, and is granted, a public fireworks display permit.” Please put your community first and consider veterans and furry friends before using any fireworks in Town.
