Lower Elementary Parents,

As Valentine's Day approaches, we wanted to send some helpful hints and tips as you and your student get ready for their classroom celebration next Friday, February 12th.

Valentine's Day Cards

As part of our classroom celebrations, students will bring Valentine's cards for each of their classmates. Each of your student's classmates should receive a personalized Valentine.

A list of your student's classmates is listed on the Valentine Exchange flyer at the bottom of this email. It can be a bit overwhelming for some students to copy the names from the list to the cards without getting lost or confused. We suggest working with your student to help them by either covering up the other names on the list so that they can only see one at a time, or calling out each name and helping them to spell each name correctly.

We suggest that you start this project with your student early and split it up over the next week so that it does not become too much for one night.

Please see the flyer at the bottom of this email for classroom counts, student names, and other information. The list of student names is on the second page of the Valentine Exchange flyer.

Valentine's Shoe Boxes

This year, students are invited to decorate a shoebox at home to bring to class on Friday, Feb. 12th, to collect their Valentine's cards in.
This box can be any size or shape, and can be decorated however your student desires.

Again, it is best to allow plenty of time for this to be completed, possibly in small chunks over a few days.

See the flyer below for more information.
