What's Cool in Lower School
Our children are encouraged to be creative and introspective. At Roycemore we do not just teach academics. We really look at all the aspects of children. One of the first projects the Third and Fourth Graders are doing is an art and writing activity where they paint and write about being creative and kind. It is entitled We are Creative, We are Kind, We are the Third Grade (or Fourth Grade). This project will lead into Leadership Week later this month. During that time, the children will focus on activities that demonstrate Kindness to Self, Kindness to Each Other, Kindness to Roycemore, and Kindness to the Community.

  • September 23-28 Leadership Week: This is the week we really focus on what it takes to be a good leader through our Leader in Me   program.

  • October 18 Pumpkin Carving Night: This is one of Lower School's favorite events. We all have dinner, choose a pumpkin, carve a wonderful jack-o-lantern, and enjoy each others' company.

You may still register for enrichment activities that have room. Please let me know a.s.a.p. if your child wants to join one. Please register directly with Chicago School of Musical Arts on their website. All others register with me.

Each week I will list all the activities that we offer, but do know that sometimes, some of them will not go. Please check them to see which ones are going that week.

  1. One of the best parts of Roycemore is our supportive community and how happy our children are to come to school. Besides learning so much, they love their teachers and all the activities they do.
2. Roycemore opens at 7:30. We have a Morning Room where all students from Pre-Kindergarten through Fourth Grade go who get to school before 8:20. The room is manned by teachers who provide activities for the children. We encourage all children to go there so they are in a safe place before school begins.
3. It was picture day on Friday! everyone looked adorable! I am sure the pictures will be wonderful!
Most of these are pictures what you have read above.

Please remember that Roycemore Lower School is a nut/peanut-free environment.  Please remember this when you send in birthday treats and snacks for your children.  There are many other allergies, specific to individual children, so please check with your classroom teacher before sending in treats.   Thank you in advance for caring about all of our children.
