“The tutors here at LH provide support to students in a smaller, more personal atmosphere. In collaboration with the Academic Intervention Specialist, the classroom teachers, and member of the office staff, a tutor schedule is developed to meet the needs of many students throughout the year who need that extra support in order to grow. Having this intervention available at LH has been incredibly helpful for students, families and teachers. Several schools this year have had to drop their tutors due to their PTA budget; we are very fortunate to have the financial support to continue this program through the virtual learning environment. The LH’s community appreciates the financial support the PTA provides for the tutoring program to happen.”
– Ellen Saltsman, Academic Intervention Specialist
Announcing Loyal Heights Night of Lights
The PTA is sponsoring a new, festive and safe event this year called Loyal Heights Night of Lights, which will be held on Saturday December 19, 2020. Taking inspiration from the annual Greenlake Pathway of Lights(which is cancelled this year), we want to surround the school and illuminate the neighborhood with light!
Over 400 luminarias will be placed along the sidewalks of surrounding the school, and additional kits will be available so that you can create your own lighted pathway on your porch, walkway or sidewalk area on December 19th. Bundle up and walk or drive around the neighborhood that evening to enjoy the beautiful display!
The 5th Grade Fundraising team and 5th grade students are teaming up with PTA Volunteers to place the luminarias around the school and also assemble and distribute the home kits. A portion of the proceeds will go toward 5th Grade Fundraising.
We are offering 2 options to participate:
$15.00 Donation covers 5 luminaria lights surrounding the school. An optional message can be placed on each of your luminarias (i.e. - "In honor of 5th Grader, Lucas B.")
$25.00 Luminaria Home Kit, comes with supplies for 8 luminarias and some surprises.
A link to donate or buy home kits will be on the PTA Website starting December 1st.
Giving Hands Winter Drive
