Student Programs - Spanish Registration Starts Today!

Starting Thursday Feb 2, you may register your student for Spanish language classes here at LHE! Classes will run weekly on Mondays from Feb 6 - Mar 27 from 2:30-4:00pm (no classes over break). Thank you to our parent volunteer, Kate, for making this possible!

Register HERE. (You can enter your registration information ahead of time and return to the site to submit payment when it opens if you choose.)

LHE PTA is working to bring more after school enrichment programming to our school, but we need your help to make this happen. We are looking for volunteers to help with signing students in and out of programs. We currently have a class on creating Comic books Monday 2:30-4:00 waiting to start at our school.

If you are interested in volunteering, email Jill so we can bring these programs to our students.

LHE Green Team

We are excited to offer the first LHE Green Team student meeting on Wednesday, February 8th at 8:00 am! The Green Team is a parent-led, student club for 2nd through 5th graders that will engage the Loyal Heights Elementary community to build awareness about the environment, climate change, climate solutions, and sustainability, and take actions to support our planet and our school.

Through student led activities, community-based events, and partnering with local environmental organizations, we aim to inspire students to be environmental leaders. One example is the Compost Crew. Students in 3rd-5th grade will provide peer-to-peer guidance during 1-2 lunch periods per week to ensure that compost, trash and recycling go in the right bins. There will be opportunities for younger students to get involved too. The Green Team meetings will be held on Wednesday mornings once per month.

Instructions: If your child is interested in being a part of the Green Team Club and/or the Compost Crew, please send an email to the co-chairs Sam Bowerman and Jessica Peyla Nagtalon. Alternatively, your student can sign up with Ms. Chutich during music class. Additional details will be sent by email before the first meeting.

Join Ballard Little League

Ballard Little League registration is live and closes February 3rd for ages 9 and up. If your child is younger, the deadline is early March.

Ballard Little League is in its 69th year serving our neighborhood. It's a great program for all skill levels. Register here.

Seeking Donations until February 11th!

We are always looking for auction donations (i.e. items, trips, tickets, experiences and gift cards). If you have a donation you’d like to give or any business connections for sponsorship, please complete the online procurement form or contact auction co-chairs Ally Magnano and Jessie Hammer.

Kid Art Volunteers Needed for the LHE Auction

Every year each classroom contributes a beautiful piece of artwork to be sold at the auction to raise funds for our school. We are looking for volunteers to coordinate a Kid Art project for each classroom.

Here's how it works:

  1. You will come up with an idea that allows all the children in the classroom to participate/collaborate.
  2. You will then gather materials and coordinate with the teacher for the classroom you are volunteering for to come in to create the art.
  3. Then assemble the project and submit it to be displayed and bid on at this year's auction.
  • PTA will reimburse up to $75 for materials (receipts must be submitted).

If you are interested in volunteering or have questions and would like more information, please email Amber Kolln.

Art Room Volunteers Needed!

The Art room needs four volunteers or about four hours a week of help. No experience in art is necessary. You will be cutting paper, prepping projects, loading the kiln, and cleaning supplies. Volunteers are welcome anytime during the day and days and times can be flexible based on your schedule and needs.

We are still looking for volunteers for the following classrooms: Colwell, Hottovy, Valente, Gayan, Jackson, Woods, Wheeler, Fox, Lamy, Gaffney & Ware.

Thank you for your support. Please email Ms. Cissell with questions and/or interest.

Volunteer at Loyal Heights!

Our school is always looking for volunteers to help with programs, events, and classroom activities running. When volunteers commit to serving at a school, students achieve higher grades, have access to more opportunities, and gain community connections to help them thrive.
