Spring Concert is Tonight!

On Thursday May 18th, the LHE Spring Concert is returning after 4 years! We are so excited to be able to bring back this wonderful tradition.

Please bring your student/s to their classrooms for 6:15pm and then continue to the cafeteria to find a seat. Beginning at 6:30pm, each class will perform two songs that they have been practicing. After the concert is over (about an hour) you can go and collect your student/s from their classrooms.

While there is no specific dress code, please leave hats at home.

Date: Thurs, May 18th, 2023

Time: 6:15pm - 7:45pm (Bring kids to classrooms by 6:15. Concert starts at 6:30.)

Location: LHE - Drop off kids in classroom, concert will be held in the cafeteria.

Thank you for helping us keep this Loyal Heights tradition alive!

Bike to School Day Tomorrow!

Please join us for Bike to School Day on Friday, May 19, 2023! Join a bike train (see map) or just make your way to school for some doughnut holes.

If you plan to drive in our neighborhood on May 19th, please be extra patient, especially in the drop-off line on 25th Ave NW. There will be more children than usual on bikes and we want everyone to arrive safely at school.

Please email Laurie with any questions.

COVER SUBMISSIONS

THANK YOU for all the incredible artwork submissions as we received over 50 submissions!

Congratulations to June Clark and Kaylee Turner—their submission was chosen for the 2022-

2023 cover.

If students would like their artwork back, they are all in a folder in the office.

Lost & Found is Overflowing!

Please take a moment during school pick-up to look through it and find your missing items. The end of the year is coming fast and this is a reminder that all items left at the end of the school year get donated.

If the Lost & Found racks are not pulled out into the playground after school, they will be between the cafeteria and playground doors. You are allowed to go in to search for your belongings.

There are single socks, bathing suits, hats, pants, sweaters, coats and everything in between. We would love to send them home with you!

Thank you for your help!

Community Spotlight - Volunteer Coordinator

Who are these two amazing women? Maggie Helsel and Melissa Murray, our Volunteer Coordinators! Maggie and Melissa serve as liaisons between the school administration, PTA and community, promoting ways for involvement through volunteer opportunities. They recruit and manage lists of event volunteers and share with the committees and event chairpeople. Maggie and Melissa also work closely with Room Parents to serve as a distribution point for PTA events, activities and requests for assistance from PTA/school. Thank you for all you do!

*Volunteer Coordinator and Co-Chair are available for next year! This could be you! To learn more, contact Maggie and Melissa.

TAG Help

TAG NEEDS HELP NEXT YEAR!

TAG would like to thank you for your support this year. As you know, this year was a "rebuilding year" for TAG after the pandemic, as we started over with a whole new volunteer team and a new program design/curriculum.

Next year we would like to come back stronger and provide an all-school play, similar to pre-pandemic times. To do this however, we need more help. Without some signals of volunteering commitment from our community, it is a real possibility that TAG will not run next year. Whether you have a few hours a week or a few hours a year to provide, there will always be a spot for you on the TAG Team.

Some positions that would need filling are: Co-Chair, TAG Committee, TAG Treasurer, Volunteers to supervise students during practices, Marketing/Advertising, Booking Spaces for practices, Costume/Makeup (when we get to that point), Photography/Videography, Ticketing, and so much more.

For interest or inquiries, please email TAG.

Volunteer at Loyal Heights!

Our school is always looking for volunteers to help with programs, events, and classroom activities running. When volunteers commit to serving at a school, students achieve higher grades, have access to more opportunities, and gain community connections to help them thrive.

IMPORTANT: All returning AND new volunteers for the 2022-2023 school year are required to have an approved Volunteer Application on file.

Returning volunteers: If you plan to volunteer in any capacity during the 2022-2023 school year, please make sure that your Volunteer Application is approved and up to date before you start volunteering.

New volunteers:  All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application Form online which includes completing an online training video (Adult Sexual Misconduct Prevention Safety), and background check. Instructions for updating and completing Volunteer Applications can be found here.

Please Note: Mr. Steve receives Volunteer Status Updates from the district once a week on Wednesdays. Please make sure that your applications are completed/updated at least 2 weeks before you plan on volunteering. Updates and applications created after Tuesday evenings will not be reviewed until the following Wednesday.
