ADMISSIONS NEWSLETTER | NOVEMBER 2024

In this season of gratitude, we would like to thank you for your interest in Loyola Blakefield! We look forward to our continued partnership in these coming months.

ATHLETICS

Loyola Blakefield athletics offers 17 MIAA sports and over 50 teams for students in grades 6-12. The purpose of athletics at Loyola is to fulfill the mission of Loyola. We want to form leaders to serve with and for others; develop the mind, body, and spirit of each student-athlete; and build programs to foster a culture of champions. Our Dons play sports at Loyola for a variety of reasons. Being on a team is fun and our guys love to compete. They also know that by playing sports at Loyola they are joining a brotherhood and are part of something much bigger than themselves. They actively learn to be men for others for the greater glory of God.

Derek Seiss

"My experience playing football at Loyola has been very special to me. The competition you play against is the best there is in Maryland. As a younger classman the older classman really took me and my brother in and now as a senior I see myself doing the same thing. Most importantly, there is nothing like playing in the Turkey Bowl and staring up in the crowd seeing 10,000 people in the stands."

Ryan Andrews

"Playing soccer for Loyola Blakefield has been more than just a sport for me; it's been about building resilience, unity, and pushing my limits alongside teammates who feel like family. Every game and practice taught me discipline and teamwork, making my time here unforgettable both on and off the field. I will be forever grateful for the opportunities Dons soccer has provided for me as well as the experience I have had."

Harry Belbot

"Playing water polo taught me what it means to be selfless and work together as a team. It was an honor to get to play my senior season with a great group of guys and carry on the winning legacy of Loyola water polo."

MIAA Championship Teams

Congratulations to both JV & Varsity Water Polo Dons for capturing MIAA Championships! Varsity defeated Mt. St. Joseph in a thrilling 18-17 win, while JV defeated Gilman 15-10.

Congratulations also to the Varsity Soccer Dons, as they took home the MIAA 'A' Conference Championship for a second year in a row, defeating Archbishop Curley to bring home the win.
