The Addams family
Yes, come and watch the Addams Family try to come to terms with the fact that Wednesday has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke… from OHIO! The Beinekes are in for a “treat” when the families are brought together at the Addams mansion and you will be too with this delightful musical brought to life by the Blakefield Players.

Beyond the Bell: Clubs and Activities
Loyola’s Clubs and Activities are running full steam. In the many after-school activities offered, the Dons share or discover an interest, a hobby, or a passion. They also connect with our faculty and staff moderators and one another. Many friendships are formed in our clubs.

Aquarium Club
Our Aquarium Club, in pursuit of broadening their education surrounding aquatic and semi-aquatic environments, recently took a behind-the-scenes tour of the National Aquarium! Students wanted to observe the various exhibits' designs to improve the aesthetic appeal of the club's aquatic habitats, but also wanted to learn about how to maintain a saltwater enclosure in hopes of utilizing the equipment they have on campus to make their own saltwater tank. Let's applaud these Dons for coming out of their shell, having initiative, and being intellectually ambitious!

Garden Club
Garden Club will be starting up again! Students will be turning over the old beds, cleaning the raised beds, and starting some Spring seeds - carrots, Fava beans, peas, lettuce, spinach, cilantro, and beets. If you like to work in the dirt and see the fruits of your labor, this is the club for you!

Ultimate Frisbee
The Ultimate Frisbee Club was featured in the Baltimore Sun’s Picturing Maryland section. Not only are they photogenic, they head into the season as defending league champions.

Sports Broadcasting Club
The Loyola Sports Broadcasting Club welcomed two great guest speakers on campus! These sessions included a brief talk by each of our guests, and an open Q&A session with those in attendance.
Pictured above:
- Ms. Valerie Preactor, current morning sports anchor for WBAL (C4 & Bryan Nehman) and 98 Rock Radio (Justin, Scott & Spiegel). She also hosts pregame and postgame shows for Orioles and Ravens Broadcasts, conducting interviews weekly during the season with players and coaches from each team.
- Mr. Pete Gilbert, sports anchor/reporter for WBAL. Pete reports during pregame and postgame shows for the Ravens preseason football games on WBAL-TV 11, WBAL Plus, WBAL 1090 AM and 98 Rock. He was also named Maryland Sportscaster of the Year in 2011, 2016, and 2019, and is part of the Ravens Broadcast Team. It was a treat for all who attended!

For over 25 years, Loyola Blakefield has supported the St. Gregory the Great community with yearly food drives and holiday gift giving. Given the immense needs of the parish, Loyola has increased its commitment to reduce food insecurity by opening a permanent food pantry at the school. We are grateful for our Loyola family’s continued support to provide healthy food for the Loyola Blakefield Food Pantry so we can make monthly food donations to St. Gregory the Great. | |
