Lt. Governor Kate Marshall Appoints Seven Nevadans to the Keep Nevada Working Task Force



I am thrilled to announce seven appointments to the Keep Nevada Working Task Force.

The Task Force will perform critical work to strengthen workforce development pipelines for Nevada immigrants.

1.Sonny Vinuya is President and CEO of @LasVegasACC
, where he represents members and community partners in government affairs, the community and economic development. He also serves as a Commissioner for Clark County Asian American Community.

2.Chris Aguiar is a second generation Henderson native and serves as a Sergeant with the Henderson Police Department. Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from Xavier University as well as a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University.

3.Alissa Cooley is a native Las Vegan who graduated from UNLV Boyd School of Law in 2014, where she currently serves as an adjunct professor. She has practiced immigration law for the last seven years with a focus on trauma-based relief.

4.Alletha Muzorewa arrived in the United States in 1983 from Zimbabwe. Her journey started at a McDonald’s cash register in 1995 before leading to the Southern Nevada Local Workforce Board in 2018, where she has served as a program manager for 3 years.

5.Vince Saavedra has been a Union Ironworker for 21 years, where he currently serves as District Council Representative. He is President of the @LCLAA
Las Vegas Chapter, and an executive board member of the @SNBTU1
and Southern Nevada Central Labor Council.

6.Dr. Vincent Solis serves as the President of @WNCnevada
. He has been in higher education for the past three decades, holding positions in academic affairs, student success programs and enrollment services.

7.Jim Sullivan is the political director for @Culinary226
, the largest organization of immigrant workers in Nevada. Jim is passionate about building a powerful labor movement and advocating for immigrant rights. He is a graduate of Temple University.
