Lucia & Alan Faust have a
life-long passion for Lakeside
Lucia Faust has been coming to Lakeside since the early 1970s as a teenager. As a high school and college student, she worked at The Abigail and Hotel Lakeside during the summer. Years later, these fond memories at Lakeside inspired Lucia and her husband, Alan, to purchase a cottage. Today the couple are not only homeowners and Lakesiders of more than four decades, but also passionate volunteers.

“I’ve always believed it’s important to give back,” says Lucia. “We feel so much warmth from this community - it’s easy to give back! For example, when Alan and I were learning to play pickleball, so many people were willing to teach us how to play. We love the game and all the friendships that it fosters.”
Your time & talent can help our community
We understand that COVID-19 has impacted all aspects of our lives, personally, emotionally and financially. Everyone is in the process of reevaluating their finances, and not all of us are in a position to give charitable contributions. Volunteering is another meaningful and important way you can help support our community during these challenging and uncertain times.

"You will not be sorry that you gave your time as a volunteer," says Lucia. "Volunteering is what drives our community forward and keeps us united and engaged with one another."

Whether you volunteer with your friends, family, spouse or individually, the Lakeside Chautauqua Volunteer Corps is a great opportunity for anyone and everyone who loves Lakeside. Families can adopt a garden in their neighborhood; couples can volunteer for an activity that is close to their hearts; individuals can assist with the Farmers’ Market; and more. All volunteer opportunities implement social distancing and put health and safety first.

“My favorite part about volunteering is feeling like you've made a difference in the community and sharing the joys of Lakeside with others,” says Lucia.

To help support our community by giving your time and talent like Lucia and Alan, join the Lakeside Chautauqua Volunteer Corps by downloading, completing and returning a Volunteer Application to communications@lakesideohio.com or the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Office, located at 217 Walnut Ave. You can also call (419) 798-4461, ext. 246 with questions.
