A NOTE FROM DAVID'S DESK

Together, we are able to advocate for dignity.

Dear Friend of The League,

It brings me great pride to work with The League's incredible team of executive leaders (Happy Women's History Month, ladies!). Each member brings a wealth of skills, knowledge, and compassion to the direction of our programs, services, legacy, and community impact.

Congratulations to Chief Operating Officer, Renée Dash, Esq., RN, for her acceptance into the Leadership Maryland 2026 Executive Class and for being named to the The Daily Record’s 2026 Top 100 Women. Also, congratulations are due to Dawn Witherspoon, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, VP of Human Resources & Compliance for her participation in the 2026 cohort of the Dr. Nancy Grasmick Leadership Institute's Professional Leadership Program for Women and Allies!

During this month of shamrocks and luck, I am reminded of how fortunate we are to have such steadfast supporters and partners championing our mission in the Baltimore disability community. Just as The League's founder Isabel K. Frank intended in 1927, people with disabilities deserve access to opportunities for independence, self-sufficiency, and joy. Nearly 100 years later, The League serves as a place of connection, self-discovery, and triumph, and it would not be possible without our talented direct support professionals, our selfless volunteers, and our generous donors.

Special thanks to Amber and Shevelle from Associated Black Charities for guest-judging our employees' door decoration submissions for Black History Month! The winning categories included Best Use of Color, Most Educational, and Most Creative. View them here.

Speaking of triumphs, I hope to see you at Tastes, Toasts, & Triumphs on Saturday, March 28th as we celebrate the commitment of our partners, SOS Technology Group, and Greg & Sharri Rochlin. Tickets are ALMOST GONE, so don't delay in reserving your seat, or spot on the dance floor! If you are unable to join us at the event, you can always bid on items in the Online Auction or make a donation to fund our mission as we strive to empower participants at The League and their loved ones to live well.

Sincerely,

David A. Greenberg
