Congratulations to Todd Lee and thank you to our 2nd Place Sponsor and Restaurant Partner, Anna Maria Oyster Bar!

You can view a full list of the winners on our Race Website.
And a giant thank you to EVERYONE who helped make the 13th Annual Lucky Ducky Race for Pace a tremendous success.
Over 26,000 ducks adopted + over $150,000 raised for our Girls!

Pace is grateful for the Leadership of Heather Shrum, Board Member and Lucky Ducky Race for Pace Event Chair, for her dedication over the past 13 years.

Our Teams Inspired the Community to Adopt!
Our Community Teams Led the Flock!
Did you know that the Team at Centauri Insurance, led by Marcia Lamb, broke a Community Team record this year? They adopted over 2,000 ducks and raised over $7,500! Quacky stopped by to thank them on behalf of our girls and had so much fun she's hoping to be nominated for Employee of the Month!

We are grateful to each and every Team Leader, and want to congratulate the Leaders below who made the 2022 Top 10 List!
Our Girls Inspiring Others
All Pace girls give back to the community through volunteerism, at least once per quarter. Last week, the girls packed toiletry bags for Turning Points in Bradenton. Turning Points serves individuals and families on their path to financial stability and independence, with the purpose of preventing and reducing homelessness in our community.

The girls attached cards with words of encouragement to each bag using their own creativity. They love volunteering, especially when they know it is helping others in need!

Do you know of a project where our girls can help? Contact Katie Reeves, Community Engagement Coordinator, at Katie.Reeves@pacecenter.org to chat about your ideas.

We're Inspired by the DDC!
Our Heroes - The Duck Deployment Crewe!
Our tagline is changing for Race Day to "RACE a Duck... Help a GIRL!" The Lucky Ducky Race for Pace takes a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes, and Manatee Masonic Lodge No. 31 managed our Duck Deployment Crewe with skill and determination. It is obvious that they have a heart for Manatee County and helping others! Led by Anthony DiMauro & Chuck Knapp, they gave up an ENTIRE Saturday setting up the course, racing the ducks (without a SINGLE duck trying to escape!), and packing the ducks to ship to the next race. Volunteers from their team even took pictures and helped to hang banners! Without them, there would not be a Lucky Ducky Race for Pace!

We also want to thank our Logistics Sponsors, Quality Marine and USA Fence.
Pace Girls are Inspired
“Pace reminds girls to find their voice in this world, to not be afraid, and to speak out.” – Ms. DeEtt, Pace Counselor

Ms. DeEtt, Ms. Melissa, and Ms. Leah had the privilege of taking girls to visit the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg recently. Ms. DeEtt noticed that the girls were drawn to the Meditation Room, a space to stop and reflect on their thoughts having viewed all of the educational exhibits previous to that room. The girls wrote their thoughts or prayers to those impacted by the Holocaust on small pieces of paper and then placed them inside the cracks in the walls of the room. Outside of this small room was a quote by Yehuda Bauer: “Thou shall not be a victim, thou shall not be a perpetrator, but, above all, thou shall not be a bystander.”

“They were curious as many did not understand the full extent of the atrocity, and they reflected on actions they can make to change the world. At lunch, students who do not typically sit together were all creating partnerships with one another and honoring the female spirit.” – Ms. Leah, Pace Social Studies Teacher

Thank you to an anonymous donor from Manatee Community Foundation
