After you read the recipe for Lulu Paste you may think it resembles something very familiar. Click the photo to be taken to the Hahn Horticulture Garden website. Better yet, visit.

Donating to the Women’s Resource Center is giving the gift of hope and of unity towards a common vision of a community free of sexual and domestic violence. They welcome your partnership and support.

Some days are easy

While photographing an event at the Hahn Horticulture Gardens I had think how lucky I was to be in such a manicured garden on a beautiful day. An easy day for photos. I tried not over think leading lines, depth of field, the EV difference between the shadow and the sunlight, ISO sensitivity, focal length, blah, blah, blah. In case you want to know I used ISO 250 and camera was set to P (auto program). But the photo that worked was underexposed by 1 ⅓ stops. The big white tent was an issue. Got questions? Contact me

Start with some good red wax cheese...

Lulu Paste

(1920s cookbook)

1 pound sharp cheddar cheese

1 small onion

1 4-ounce can pimentos

½ cup tomato catsup

1 pinch dry mustard

A little chili sauce (optional)

1 cup mayonnaise

Grind cheese, onion, and pimentos in food grinder. Add other ingredients and stir until well mixed. Store in screw-top jar in icebox. This is considered an heirloom recipe in Richmond. It is a very delicious spread.
