During our recent Credit Union Town Halls, we met with two lawmakers to discuss both state and federal priorities.
On October 16th, we met with State Senator and Congressional candidate Cleo Fields to discuss the upcoming state special session on tax reform, which begins November 6th, and shared our current federal legislative priorities. Senator Fields has long been a credit union supporter and recognizes the import role we play in the financial well-being of Louisiana residents.
On October 17th, we had a productive conversation with Congressman Garret Graves, focusing on federal issues such as consumer protections and looking into the 2025 congressional agenda. While Rep. Graves is not seeking reelection, he remains committed to supporting credit unions and our legislative goals during his remaining time in office. We also awarded Graves a Luminate Award, thanking him for his service to credit unions.
These meetings underscore our ongoing advocacy efforts to ensure that the interest of credit unions are heard and supported at both the state and federal levels.
